Deradoorian's ok though...Angel from Dirty Projectors' project, I saw them open up for Chelsea Wolfe earlier this year. Not anything spectacular, but a passable opening act if you like watching pretty girls chant.
Maybe her and Avey will collaborate. The livenation page still says Dan Deacon on it along with Deradoorian. We shall see.
Yeah no more Dan Deacon. Supposedly they kicked him off the tour to make room for Avey's girls group. Weak.
Edit: I should have emphasized supposedly, but I hear Deacon was not pleased. Yes it could all be bullshit. I generally lay off the rumor mill and probably should have in this case.

We're here to play some Mississippi Delta Blues. We're in a horrible depression, and I gotta admit - we're starting to like it.
I thought when they did a 2nd tour after releasing an album they'd be trying out unheard songs. The setlists seems a bit stale at this point (unless you weren't at coachella or the last tour). That and no Dan Deacon makes tonite easy to pass up.
AC was on point as always. Loved the song list tonight and it got the crowd worked up into a frenzy. Maybe to much, as there was a handful of people that would run on stage, dance with the band and then cannonball into the pit. People had to have been hurt.
Yeah, great setlist tonight. Looking back on a few of the setlists from other recent shows, we really got the goods tonight. I'd take almost any song tonight over something like Lion in a Coma or Pulleys. Opening with Did You See the Words was phenomenal, I Think I Can as the first song of the encore was wonderful, and tonight's version of The Purple Bottle was probably the best single song performance I've seen from them to date. Really good show.
Totally agree TallGuy!
First time seeing them indoors, previously only at festivals, hollywood bowl etc and these guys absolutely brought the weird fury I have been wanting from a show of theirs. I can't imagine Avey has much of a voice left tomorrow... I've never seen him scream and get into so many weird fits before. So glad to see this band have a devout fam base now of people nuts for them and wanting to get wild. Didn't get a single vibe of anyone checking them out or wanting MPP songs (though those songs are amazing with all 4 of them performing them now).
But really, Purple Bottle. Wow.
Yup. Exactly my thoughts as well. What a fantastic fucking show. Avey is the man. Peacebone and Purple Bottle ahh my head exploded.
9/25 Titus Andronicus @ The Glass House
10/17 Ariel Pink & Black Lips @ Pappy & Harriets
4th time seeing them, and easily the best. Their ferocious go at Monkey Riches brought back happy polo field memories. Brother Sport manifested itself as a long and elegant tease, akin to great session of oral sex. By the time it ended, everybody forgot about Deacon's cancellation. Woo hoo
Wow...what a great set last night in Asheville! Sound was perfect and the set list was prety much the best jams of the 20 they're playing this tour. So bummed I stepped out to check out NIN. Missed Honeycomb. Had to come back since AC sounded better...glad I did!
And props to Brian for rallying despite a 102 fever.
looks like they will be taking a long break after their last batch of shows in early december. an update from deakin (from the kickstarter thing he did years ago - which he unbelievably still has not fulfilled, hence this e-mail update):
"Though it is a little sad to be coming to the end of our AC touring cycle for a good long while, it is personally very exciting as I will be able to put all of my attention into my own output. I have been working on new songs beyond the Mali record and can't wait for this project to be completed so I can move on to that stuff."
hopefully we get a new panda bear album and a slasher flick album next year as well.
