thanks. A couple of days old, but here are a few more thoughts from Avey about the underlying concepts of Centipede Hz (via P4k) for those that are interested.

"Every song has its own special world, and it moves along really nicely as a full piece. This record definitely sounds like an Animal Collective record. I think Animal Collective fans will be psyched."

I don't think I've ever anticipated an album as much as I am with this one.. can't wait till September.

Ticketmaster is saying garden box tickets are unavailable? Does this mean they're sold out? I didn't think they would sell out for this show. Kind of bummed now.

lol, yeah, that means theyre gone. You forgot about the people that have subscriptions and season seats take up most of that section regardless.

Hahaha, wow. Dave looks the same, but the other 3 guys obviously made some significantly better hair/wardrobe choices over the years.

Um....no. Neither the artwork nor the two dopes in the middle Brian and/or Noah.

Just what are you implying here? They've only released two songs...which aren't even on the new LP.

Well, if the album features a bunch of the new songs they played the past couple years, then chances are it WILL be superior to MPP. Rhythmic, psychedelic gold.

anyone that counts on how the lp will sound based on the preceding shows hasn't paid attention to AC's career.

Yeah, but with that cover it's gotta be their best album.

I was referring to the artwork of MPP, not the album. Clearly the cover FEELS posted trumps it. Real talk though:

It was really important for us to do something that sounded a little bit rawer, more excitable. Higher energy. To me, Merriweather has this more mellow atmosphere; the pace and tempos on this one are a lot quicker. We just wanted to do a lot of jammers, and not a lot of ambient, spacey stuff. It was nice to take a break from that.

It's more based on a combination of the songs we've heard and the band members' interviews. They seem to speak of the sound heading back to a more rhythmic, raw direction, like their older material. All this points to good signs, IMO.

A smaller LA show on the 24th would also be nice...

    (password = disco)
Please note that presale tickets are only available online. The general on sale begins Sunday, June 17th at 10am."

I'd kill for a smaller LA gig, I'd rather not go to the Bowl if I can help it.

    Fingers crossed.

I can't decide whether to go to both Animal Collective shows in Oakland or just one.

I should probably just do one so I can also afford a Beach House ticket.

I would be most welcoming of another Troubadour show, although I doubt I'd be able to score tickets this time around.
Hollywood Forever would be nice too but not very "small".

I've never seen them and really wanna go but man those ticket prices are KILLER. If the bowl gig doesn't sell out would they still be able/allowed to add a smaller show?
