Absolutely Not...you are not alone!!!Am i the only one who gets slightly annoyed when people refer to anything remotely electronic sounding as TECHNO.
For most people, TECHNO conjures up thoughts of euro dance stuff and puts electronic music in general in a silly light.
not that euro dance techno sheeit isn't ok...i got all nostalgiac the other day for old euro hits from the likes of 2 Unlimited, Snap!, La Bouche, Culture Beat, and Capellea

IDM is basically the "Alternative" of electronic music. Its a generic term applied to a bunch of stylistically different music and musicians. Its a wide net.
