Am I misremembering or does the "professor" always wear the same outfit?

I'm not sure, but in the episode that the professor followed Travis on his date they both wore the exact same outfit.
Oh jeez, can't Dexter just think for himself. Last thing we need is 30% of air time for this season dedicated to the angel and devil on his shoulders.
*Some character exits after delivering a line that presents Dexter with a fork in the road, camera pans opposite of character that has exited to reveal Dexter's conscience panel. Begin Dexter's head discussion.
Yeah, I never really like when Harry appears in a scene, because it usually means that Harry will give some Captain Obvious routine for a minute or two...
But I do like the potential of a Brian consciousness after seeing how the Professor works in Travis' mind. If it is indeed the case, it's more amazing how Travis' apparition exists in the world in his own mind, because as far as he knows, he's never been able to kill anybody. It's cool that, possibly, one of these consciousnesses actually influences the world through their unwitting host. It's like a possession almost. If they used Brian more in that sense, as opposed to just an evil cheerleader for Dexter, it would be really cool... But I suppose that would be enough for it's own season, without Travis... Having Brian released into the world again, killing innocents, through Dexter.
Also remember Gellar forced Travis's foot down on the gas pedal of the car to hit the prostitute. Yet another thing Travis could just be projecting. All of this makes sense. Are there any times at all that someone else is talking to or even acknowledges Gellar?
RIP Brother Sam. Short though it was, probably my favorite guest appearance next to Lithgow.
I really like the theory that the Prof is in Travis's head. It would account for/make more tolerable what a pussy Hanks has been. Also makes the whole storyline soo much creepier.
This idea excites me but the thing is Dexter has never been all schizo in relation to the Harry appearances. He constantly defies his advice. Leads me to believe he wouldn't all of a sudden start doing everything Brian's apparition commands.
Pretty sure he's wearing the same shirt in every single one of these pictures:

This last episode with the brother in Nebraska and killing the paranoid and greedy weed grower has been the worst episode this season.
Interesting how this episode plays on the idea of the Professor being real or not. I'm betting Travis ends up killing his sister as she seems apart of his struggle with filling THE PROPHECY

After seeing the way Dexter and Brian were I am sure Geller is just in Travis's head. This last episode was a really good premise but REALLY dropped the ball IMO. I couldn't stand the whole conclusion; Jonah not really being like his Dad, Dexter letting him go and going back to his "code" so easily, Brian being only in 1 episode. God, so much wasted story potential.

I didn't like this episode all that much either. For much of the same reasons included above. Hey Jonah, I know you're emotionally unstable and could implicate me in active insvestigations, but I'm going to tell you I'm a killer anyway...

Talk about a boring filler episode. The scene where Dexter is driving to Nebraska shooting the gun at signs on the road? That didn't even seem like the same show.
I did pay more attention to the Professor and his clothing. Different shirts. Doesn't change anything though. Travis has a dark passenger all his own, but unlike mine, his dark passenger can be killed
Well obviously he wouldn't have stayed around, I just felt like Dexter dismissed him way to easily. He should have been around another episode and it should have taken more than Jonah going "o wait I didn't actually kill my sister I sware!! for Dexter to decide he was done with Brian.
Yep, I caught the American Gothic reference as well.

I agree with all of you about this episode being filler. I was excited to see Brian back, but it's so stupid that it was for this nonsense. And I certainly didn't want Brian to come back as an Anti-Harry, you know. Not like the part of Dexter's conscious that tries to justify or cheer on the darkness... What I thought might be cool for Brian is how he took the pitchfork and stabbed the weed-farmer guy, and to kind of do things like that beyond Dexter's control. Sure, in the end, it's Dexter losing out to his better side; but to us, it would seem like Brian is possessing him (like Travis and the Professor).
But I guess not. Whatever. No more detours like this. Onward with the Doom's Day Killer, who is kind of becoming my favorite killer.
