Minutemen are one of the very few bands I never ever get bored of
In case you'd never heard it and want to, I just discovered that the entirety of Boris Flood is available in a single Youtube upload.
Holy shit. WHY HAVE I NEVER LISTENED TO SWANS BEFORE?? This is fucking amazing. Thank you Patrick for inadvertently turning me onto them from the Discographies thread. Listening to Children Of God right now and my head is exploding.
The band Eisley is doing a kickstarter to raise money to tour for their new album. if only I could raise $4,000 to have them perform an acoustic show for me!
the busy bee has no time for sorrow.
We're here to play some Mississippi Delta Blues. We're in a horrible depression, and I gotta admit - we're starting to like it.
I must say Swans are the only band that can legitimately scare me (in a good way). New Mind has been stuck in my head all week.. (the sex in your soul will damn you to hell!)
and definitely gonna check those two out as well!
As far as Swans go my favorite personal listening experience disregarding seeing them play live would be listening to Soundtrack for the Blind walking around my neighborhood in the dark by myself.
I wish we could get some sort of The Clash reunion set at Coachella/ one off show with handful of different singers for Joe Stummers replacement.Shoot even just a band like Black Lips doing a whole Clash cover set would make me happy.
I assume ya'll remember the great Cyrus - he has made an amazing music video
Well. I'm glad about whatever the hell that is.
R.I.P. Mack Daddy from Kris Kross. You will no longer warm it up, as you were apparently born to do.

Have Another Hit Of Colorado Sunshine
Fuck....and.......yes. http://www.avclub.com/articles/steve...is-done,97359/ Of course, to whittle down a couple songs and come up with art work, maybe another year or two?
All the songs they played from the forthcoming album on the last tour were more weird, goofy and spare than just about anything they've done before. I can't wait for that one. Looks like I have to listen to Excellent Italian Greyhound tonight.
I was thinking of making a parody of SMA's threads but seriously, what happened to Air? I've been listening to them on shuffle since getting back from Vegas yesterday and it's great. I missed them at Coachella 2007 and I heard they had issues...were they ever any good live? Are they still playing? I don't love their entire discog but the 30 or so songs I have here from across their output are seriously otherworldly IMO.
They put out an album last year, just 3 years after their previous effort. They haven't toured since 2010 though.
I have notice that its either a lack of an ability to really define a band sound or its a very dumb habit of trying to connect a band to another bands sound or place them in genre. Now that i got this gulit of why I do not like to post a lot of album reviews out of the way heres some so-so nonsense.
(WARNING ANYTHING EVEN ADMITTED BY MYSELF AS KINDA OR SO-SO NONSENSE SHOULD AND SHALL BE PLACED UNDER EXTREME NONSENSE)
I really think foxygens debut album is so far is one of the best debut albums of the year yet I also have this gut feeling in a few years Im going to be embrassed by this. Mainly because my intial thoughts are "Oh they sound kinda like MGMT meet some retro folk music" yet its kinda nonsensical.
So I work with this older guy (he's 57) and he's super awesome. The other day we get to talking about music and it turns out he's probably the MOST knowledgeable person music-wise I've ever encountered and wins the award for having seen the best bands live ever. Talking Heads three times in a club, The Gun Club, Bowie during Ziggy Stardust tour, Teardrop Explodes, Television right after Marquee Moon came out, Elliott Smith, My Bloody Valentine in the late 80s, Slowdive, The Fall in the 80s, Fugazi, and on and on.... Basically I'm extremely jealous.. and it's funny 'cause he's 57 and knows all about new music as well. Idk, I think it's super cool and I hope to be like him when I'm that old.
