Great, I missed The Sonics conversation. That dude had the most awesome, hilarious scream in all of rock and roll. It makes me want to laugh and destroy something at the same time. 'Strychnine' and 'Psycho' are two of my favorite songs ever.
I tried listening to that Rockin' Bones comp a while back but too many of the songs sounded the same - Rockabilly sound, same structure. Repeat.
We're here to play some Mississippi Delta Blues. We're in a horrible depression, and I gotta admit - we're starting to like it.
There is a 1970's film called "The Blank Generation" which documents the original CBGB bands made by Ivan Kral who was a guitar player for Iggy Pop. One of the bands, The Shirts, play two songs. The first is Laugh And Walk Away. I'm trying to remember what the second was but can't for the life of me and google isn't being any help. Anyone got an idea?

It doesn't say anything about "Laugh And Walk Away", but it says 'Song Performer ("Doe")' and their discography on Wikipedia says they have a song called "Poe." Not sure if that helped, but I had to see if I could break google's shitstreak.
No, Poe isn't it. Thanks though. Damn this is killing me.
I agree with Andrew.
Edit: ignore the gift horse's mouth that is this video - it's the only album version I could find.

"Everyone's going to your house, to shoot up in yr room. Most of them are beautiful, but so obsessed with gloom... I didn't come here looking for no fix! Ima lookin' for a kiss!"
Some of the best lines on that album, yet alone the fucking music.
Wayne County was doing something similar to the Dolls though I believe The Dolls were first
Oo, haven't heard of them before. good stuff! and the Dolls looked pretty gnarly.. but that dude might take the cake.
I was lucky enough to get the Disintegration Loops box set for Christmas, so I've been listening to that this morning. The end of the live recording is two minutes of complete silence from the audience and the performers. It is probably the most beautiful thing I've ever heard. Just incredibly, monumentally poignant. It's phenomenal and unexpected when the audience bursts into applause afterwards. That might be my (belated) favorite moment of music released last year.
We listened to some of that at a record club and I was highly impressed with the live perforrmance. Sounded excellent, but we didn't get all the way to the end. I was very jealous that iceyhotshot got the box, as it's gorgeously packaged.
Make sure to listen to the whole thing if you get a chance. It is really, really poignant.
No one does it like John, but this is pretty interesting...cr****

re-listening to Give Up by The Postal Service, and honestly, the Owl City comparison is such bullshit. this album has such more substance then anything Owl City could've attempted to do. /rant.
Im drinking coors light and listening to Orange Juice's You Can't Hide Your Lpce Forever...I don't know if I should be disgusted by myself or not .
