All the students were freaking out. Most of them haven't been around long enough to know the Whittier-Narrows or Northridge earthquakes.

last major one I felt was back in 2000, when one of the same magnitude rocked Napa at fuckin 1:30am. I remember hearing everything (including a giant glass hutch) falling over in the apartment below and the lady who lived there screaming. Then I got up to check on my sister and saw a record cabinet had fallen over on her, then we went outside and waited for like half hour in the freezing cold for a friend (our dad was outta town that weekend) to come get us.
It's been a while, Mr. Earthquake. Thanks for reminding me you fuckin' rock.
Prelude to a bigger one?

I still remember the '89 quake too...I remember walking down the hallway when it was happening, and our house was rolling from left to right, and then I reached the living room where my sister was sitting on the couch rocking her head back and fourth while she stared at the static on the TV. It was trippy.
It felt like electricity under my feet.

I clearly remember the Northridge earthquake.....holy fuck.
I was down here in the So. Cal area and I felt the '89 earthquake. We were getting ready for a pop warner football game and I was sitting in the stands. Man, it must've been bananas for yall Northern folk![]()
That was pretty epic. I was sitting outside on the deck having some awful Thai food for lunch and suddenly "wtf is that shaking? EARTHQUAKE!"
I don't think 5.8 magnitudes are a pre-shock normally.
I felt it pretty hard, I've felt harder though.
Things were pretty smooth over here in the San Fernando Valley.
it felt pretty strong here in Valley Village, but maybe I just don't have enough experience to judge
