Drove by the niners practice facility as it's down the street, and it was like driving by a memorial cross on the side of the freeway. The emotional hangover across the bay area is evident, I haven't felt this way since the 2002 world series...

Jim Harbaugh will still be the Coach of the Year. Save your rebuttal because it is wrong.

I don't know much about them, I just read that he was from Boston this morning in an article about his terrible singing of the National Anthem.

    Jones applies the Romo... blows.

Cowboys owner/coach/spokesman/G.M. Jerry Jones was asked Monday at the Senior Bowl about the success of the Super Bowl bound New York Giants.

In Jones’ estimation, the biggest difference between the Cowboys and the Giants is simple: Eli Manning. Ouch.

Calvin Watkins on ESPNDallas.com reports that Jones subsequently offered praise for Tony Romo, possibly in an effort to put the toothpaste back in the tube. But the point seems clear. Jones essentially said that the 31-year-old quarterback of his division rival has a big edge over his own 31-year-old quarterback.

Perhaps this was Jones’ way of sending a message to Romo that he won’t be coddled any more. Even if that’s true, I fully expect Jones to later “clarify” these words and make a show of support for Romo.

It’s also worth wondering if Jones takes an overly simplistic view of what separates the two teams. We’d give the Giants the edge in terms of their pass rush, their coaching continuity, and their ability to make the right front office decisions.

Jerry Jones might want to look at the whole defense, not just the pass rush.

MGM opened with the Patriots as 3-1/2 point favorites but almost opened a little bigger:

"We were originally looking at the Patriots as 4- or 41/2-point favorites, but this Giants performance here [defeating San Francisco, 20-17, in overtime] being so dominating on the road against tough competition, while the Patriots are not looking as good as they have been, I think it's a good number."

Jimmy Vaccaro is the sports book director for the Lucky's chain in Las Vegas.

    Jimmy Vaccaro

"The more I watch this stuff reminds me just how close winning and losing (and good to bad seasons) are. The Harbaugh brothers' losses -- one on a missed kick and one on a made kick. But I believe the game that determined the season had to be when Giants played at Dallas -- Giants down 12 with five minutes to go. The Giants and Cowboys were both 7-6 and the game basically put one in the driver's seat and one with an almost impossible spot to get in playoffs. On third-and-4, with Romo staring at a wide open Miles Austin, he threw it over his head by 15 yards. A pitch and catch would have basically sealed the win and the Giants might have never smelled the playoffs. Now New York is just a small dog that will get plenty of backing in the Super Bowl."

I can't believe the Giants are still trying to play the "no one is giving us a chance" card. Apparently the team doesn't watch tv, read, or surf the internet.

I just got the door that I punched during that play fixed... He's a little off on the 15 yards part, Miles actually should have been able to catch that pass but his hammy was tender as usual.

Well, that mentality has gotten them this far, they played that same underdog card in the '07 playoffs and look how that worked out.

Yeah, but they were actually underdogs in 2007. Whatever, if that delusion is what you need in order to get ready for the SUPER BOWL then god bless.

Exactly. Romo's throw was only a few feet away from Austin's feet. Austin should have reasonably been able to catch it had he not "lost it in the lights". If he catches that pass, the Cowboys win the division and the Giants are at home right now. Simple as that.

I'm sorry the Giants were 6-6 and the Cowboys were 7-5 going into the game. Giants won for both teams to go 7-6, hardly giving the other team an "almost impossible spot to get in playoffs". Giants proceeded to drop a game against fucking Washington. Dallas played a winner takes all games in the final week of the season against the Giants. Hyperbole and revisionist history.

Thanks, ThomThom. Yeah, Romo "lost" that game with his 4 TDs and 0 INTs. Right as usual, Tom...

P.S. It was Miles Austin's fault that the pass wasn't caught.

This is why you're a semi-employed cheetoh-munching fucktard. Did Romo win the game? No. Therefore he lost. He's the fucking quarterback. You asslickers keep supporting him, which is fine with me, I like to see them lose.
