Nice find! Will have to check it out tonight.

The weird thing about the deal is that Silva just signed a contract extension less than a month ago, and I thought it was partially done as a way to tell PSG to fuck off after their first approach for him. I think Leonardo took a page from the American Pickers guys' textbook by realizing you can still get what you want to buy if you bundle things together
A long way back to the top. No wait it's the Scottish league, see you in 3 years.
Congrats to Michael Bradley, who just completed a transfer from Chievo Verona to Roma on a 4-year contract. Quite an accomplishment for a 24 year-old Yank who only played one season in Serie A. It's also a move which I think will help him develop into one of the best central midfielders the US has ever had, as he's in the best possible league to build on his passing skills and to learn about positioning, tactics, reading the game, etc.
Cahill sold to NY Red Bulls; thoughts, sonofhal?
Pienaar did much better on his loan return than Cahill did last season. 2 goals and nowhere near the supply skills of Pienaar. If it helps fund a permanent move back then I'm all for it. Cahill has lost a fair bit of pace over the last 2 seasons, so maybe MLS will be right up his street.
Since watching pre-season friendlies can be quite a bore, here's the Olympic Men's football schedule:
Group Games/Match Day 1 - Thursday 7/26
Group Games/Match Day 2 - Sunday 7/29
Group Games/Match Day 3 - Wednesday 8/1
Quarter Finals - Saturday 8/4
Semi Finals - Tuesday 8/7
Bronze Medal Game - Friday 8/10
Gold Medal Game - Saturday 8/11
Brazil's extremely strong squad represents their best chance of winning the only international trophy they've never managed to win, Spain will be contenders despite their god-awful uniforms, and I feel like Uruguay and Mexico have a great chance to go far.
Anyone else watching the Olympic U.S. Womens vs France? Unless I missed something in overage, it was 2-2 to end the first half.
You know, but that's valid because if we are all gonna die anyway shouldn't we be enjoying ourselves now? You know, I'd like to quit thinking of the present, like right now, as some minor insignificant preamble to something else.
It's that tad bit of Crazy that keeps me Sane...
Way to be sore losers, Spain. You lost, deal with it.
I love the Spanish team, but them losing may in many ways be the best thing for them. Build on a loss and you can do amazing things.
It's not the same team guys. There is nothing to build on.
With most major European domestic leagues due to kick off over the next few weeks, how do you all feel your club's summer has gone? Any big signings you're excited for, or players who have left which you feel will hurt the team?
Today was a big day for us Gunners fans as the club officially announced the signing of Santi Carzola from Malaga! This guy is the kind of player we were desperately missing last season, an intelligent, attack-minded midfielder with an eye for goal. Even though he mainly plays as a winger I'm pretty confident Wenger is going to play him at the top of our three-man midfield as that will allow him to spray passes out to the wings and in behind the defense for our striker - whomever that winds up being.
I have a feeling it will be RvP, as it looks like both City and Juventus are out of the running leaving United as his only real option. If United sign Lucas Moura I doubt they will have the funds to also go for RvP, but if Lucas signs for PSG (who are reported to have made a massive bid for him, one which is 15 million pounds more than United's) they could very well make a successful bid for Robin. There's also a rumor floating around that Alex Song might be on his way out, as Wenger is pissed that he wants to explore his transfer options in the wake of interest from Barca and some other clubs, but, for me, that wouldn't be the biggest loss as we could use the funds to buy a proper holding midfielder rather than an undisciplined one who thinks he's a creative midfielder. Some are saying that's why we're also in for Nuri Sahin, but I think he's going to work as cover for the injury-plagued Wilshire (who won't be back until October), Diaby, and Rosicky - what we really need a player who will sit in front of the back line and help out defensively when our fullbacks are pushed forward.
Finally, I really think that promoting Steve Bould to replace Pat Rice as assistant manager will really have a positive impact on the team defensively, as he was part of our very successful back four in the late 1980s and into the 90s. We allowed something like 45 goals last season, and I'm hoping that's where Steve can make his mark on the team.
Santiago Carzola is the best signing of the PL of the last few years bar none. I've been following Santi since his Villarreal days and the guy is the real deal. If arsenal doesn't win something this season, I'll be surprised. Fucking amazing signings so far. No way man city holds the league and Chelsea hold the UCL title.
Chris, were you one of the pitch invaders at Tony Hibbert's testimonial last night?
It's official - RvP to United. He's also officially dead to me now.
Is the Fox soccer channel the main one that shows the euro matches? It's an extra $5 a month to add that channel, so if it does I will bite the bullet and upgrade.
Yes; Fox Soccer shows the Champions League, the English Premier League, and the Italian Serie A. Another premium channel which might come with your upgrade is GolTV, which shows the Spanish and German leagues, as well as the Europa League and some South American leagues as well. ESPN shows some English games too, but it's maybe two or three a weekend compared to the 5-7 you get on FSC. $5 is a good deal, so I'd say do it!
The times they are a' changin

Now we just have to beat them on home turf again and it's official.
