DREAM BIGGER
I'll be in Napa til Sunday, but if no one gets it in there before then I'll put it up when I get back. I fucking dig it. Very few blast beats and some great riffs.
The 1975 - The 1975
This is definitely a discussion for another thread, but I've realized this has been one of the biggest hurdles for me when it comes to metal. I cannot fucking stand blastbeats. Most people reference the screaming as what turns them off to metal, for me, it's the drumming. But there's plenty of stuff without them and that's what I tend to appreciate the most.
That is odd. Is it because it is so jarring and difficult to find the groove? I can agree to a certain extent especially when it comes to really techy shit that you just can't follow the rhythm of, but I think in black metal and certain portions of death metal that shit works great.
DREAM BIGGER
I just think it sounds neutered. Maybe it works live, but on record, all it sounds like is "click, click, click, click." If metal is supposed to be this ferocious lumbering beast that overpowers you, the drums can't sound tinny and clicky. And yeah, I guess I like most of my music to have a little bit of a groove. It's probably the same reason I don't listen to fucking gabber or whatever, and can only listen to drill'n'bass in very small portions. You speed the rhythm section up too much and it just becomes this really boring blur.
wheeerreee iissss MAN MAN?

Can we get Factory Floor grouped??
Superfan will be in front of the Fonda masturbating furiously to a photo of him taking a photo of a band. Set is from 8:05 to approximately 8:05:15. Guest list only.
Upcoming Shows: Spamalot (7/31), HARD (8/1) 2001 Space Odyssey with LA Phil (8/12), Opeth (10/18), TOOL (10/31), Coachella 2016 (WK1), David Gilmour (Wherever I need to go)
Ditto on factory floor. Also, SISU - Blood Tears, anyone?
Julie Ruin is on NPR First Listen. And Factory Floor is the shit.
No problem. I always forget about First Listen when I'm combing for new music.
