It's pretty insane living two blocks from the Kings' favorite bar. They brought the Cup there after the series winner two years ago, and even though the cops insisted they weren't coming, they showed up super late last night and brought it again.

My brother and I ran in to a very intoxicated Quick at about 5am as we walked back to my place, haha.

Perks of being a season ticket holder. Bought mine today too! Levi's stadium is really nice. Went there for the first ever sporting event (Sounders v. Earthquakes)

    Any Pre-season picks?

My guess for the regular season in the pacific is

    1. Ducks
    2. Kings
    3. Sharks

If for any other reason, because another playoff series against the Sharks would be entertaining.

    Central
    1. Hawks
    2. Blues
    3. Avs
    4. Stars
    5. Wild

Hawks/Kings WCF with the winner taking home the cup. Sound familiar?

Oh, and something about Montreal taking out Boston again in the playoffs would be nice as well.

The New York Islanders are locked and loaded for their final season at the Nassau Veterans Memorial Coliseum, before they move to the Barclays center in Brooklyn. Early in free agency they gave themselves some forward depth by adding Grabovski and Kulemin, along with Cory Conacher. They fixed their goaltending by signing Halak and Johnson. And just a few days ago bolstered their defense by adding these two champions in Boychuck and Leddy.

Am I excited for this season? You bet your sweet ass I am.

Only difference is now they're taking the whole state of Arizona with them instead of just Phoenix.

Thought some of the young Sharks skated pretty well last night.

16 of the first 21 on the road is a rough way to start it though.

Woo Pens win! Great to see Duper back and I continue to mark out for Matta. MAF was only to blame for one of those goals, really. I still think he's grown a lot more and is playing some of his best hockey. But yeah, Gibson was pretty bad. I love the new pens forecheck and possession game even though they sort of discarded it a bit in the second period. Their PK was really bad. The ducks have a good PP but the Pens PK box was full of holes. Still gonna have to feel this team out. I think they're deeper on the 3rd and 4th lines. Good start.
