I never thought i'd be dancing at an Animal Collective show, but the songs they performed had me going. And it was rad that they worked a Panda Bear song into the mix too. It was "Bros" right? i can't remember now.

anything could happen

They played 3 songs fucknuts...like any other Animal Collective show.
I dunno what the intro was...but then it was Comfy in Nautica and then Fireworks. Also note that the actual recorded songs barely resemble what they played live.
are you mad about something? cause you can tell me, I'm your friend
it's me
the first song he was singing about a "Chocolate Girl" so maybe that's the name of that one.
The closing song was nuts. So awesome.

Saturday's Coachella was the very best day I've ever had watching music. And Animal Collective's performance was my favorite. Nobody takes as many chances and succeeds as this band. Shimmering brilliance. I really want to see them again soon.
That opening song was so mysterious and wonderful and the closer I'd seen a clip of before but it was even better live. In fact all the songs are better live than on CD.
setlist included:
comfy in nautica
brothersport
bearhug
some new songs
*based upon tedious fact checking.
i wish they was all there but it was stil great and definteyl like how pt comfy innautica in there gret surprise
another song was called "House"
you can watch House, Bearhug and Comfy in Nautica on youtube or via Pitchfork

setlist was
1. Chocoloate Girl
2. Comfy In Nautica (Panda Bear)
3. House
4. Bearhug
5. Fireworks --> Essplode --> Fireworks
6. Brother Sport
I was bummed that they cancelled the autograph signings, but their set more than made up for it. There seemed to be a lot of big AC fans in the crowd, and I was psyched to see that.
nevermind quicksand beat me to it
I wish everything was on YouTube already. I can't stop watching the House vid!!
i was so psyched they played chocolate girl. i did not see that coming. The week before the show i was considering buying some of the stuff before sung tongs. I bought "chocolate girl" and fell in love. i might buy the album sooner or later, but that really made coachella for me. Also the fact that they stuck to songs from the Npr thing online and nothing radically new so i was overall very pleased. maybe someone saw me, i had a pink and green towel and was dancing like crazy

I was really glad they played it too, however, I like the original version a lot more. Still though, it was so rad. And I didn't see you, but maybe you saw me? Solid turquoise shirt and brown jeans? Vague description but it's worth a shot.
This was probably the worst conflict for me, but I missed Animal Collective so that I could have a good spot to see Kraftwerk, Portishead and Prince. It wound up being great though, because I was on the rail for Prince and from looking at Animal Collective's setlist, I can live with seeing them another day.
these animal collective videos are fantastic. cannot wait to seem them this summer.
I wish I would have left a little early to get to Portishead, but they were amazing.
Why was there only 3 of them? I was under the impression there were 4 members.
Awesome show though....I think the best word to describe it for me was 'mesmerizing'...They sometimes push the boundaries of the crowds patience, but its intentional I think. The repetition puts you into a trance. There was a song I wasn't familiar with where Avey screamed on the beat for what seemed like 2 minutes straight....I just remember thinking "are they f**king with me right now???"
I just wish they would have played more stuff off of Strawberry Jam...but I enjoyed the show regardless.
And I'm really glad I saw them instead of the MIA debacle.
That song with the repetitive scream is Brother Sport
I was really looking forward to them, but was pretty disappointed. Maybe their set got stronger, but I bailed after the first couple of songs. Panda Bear sounded like crap live to me which was a big let down considering how much I like his album stuff.
