Well sadly my video missed the last 20 minutes when all hell broke loose....but for the record, I enjoyed the first half of the set more...I really liked the classic house shit he dropped. Good times.
As for me, as soon as he dropped Welcome to The Terrordome, and hearing the collective "Huh/Holy shit" coming from the crowd, it was great, and stayed great.
And to hear the last 20 minutes or so, about after the Drop Suey remix, with the insane DnB, still is fresh in my mind.
Easily my favorite show in the Sahara last year.
This is bullshit...I wanna see some bush, pan down!
i admit the first part dragged on, but i enjoyed the gabber and drill n bass he was playing. it was fucking refreshing considering the onslaught of electro that year.
he didnt play any gabber...
for 10 minutes it was hardcore/gabber, before he started playing drill n bass material.
i'm listening to it right now. it sounds like what i'd call hardcore or gabber. you'd say i'm mistaken in calling it that? i'm talking around 26 minutes into it.
yes, you are mistaken...
what would you call it?
definitely wasnt a set to dance to. i was rolling for my first time, riding the rail, and all i could manage to do was swing my head back and forth. my friend who i was with was a bit more alert to the goings on and told me to look back at one point at the crowd.. everyone just had this blank look on their face, kindof moving around but definitely not "dancing".. atleast for the most part. i think a common mistake is to call his set boring because of this effect he had on the crowd but i like to think it was something much more than that.. it was undanceable-put-you-in-a-daze black magic i tell ya
easy buddy, i think we were just trying to give a little classification to wtf we witnessed during that special hour
i don't know, i was dancing. not very well, but i was dancing.
it was a history lesson. I knew we were in for something special when he boosted that line in welcome to the terrordome. I just heard that scratchy history film voice cutting through the mix:
