An excellent artist of beautiful and atmospheric dreamlike instrumental electronic music, who takes it up a notch with a small (3-piece) band for live performances. Caught him (them) several times over the past few years, including a wonderful sunset performance on the Ambassador stage at last year's LIB.

One of my top 5 must-sees at this year's Coachella who should be playing after dark in the Gobi (like Darkside last year) but no conflicts with Swans or Father John Misty!

I love Tycho and have seen Scott a lot over the years [11 times since 2007] and have witnessed the evolution of his music and live performance into an amazing and most wonderful aural and visual experience. I highly recommend getting a nice spot for Tycho's set, as the visuals are an integral part of the live experience.

I first started seeing Tycho when he was performing solo lap-top live shows in galleries and the side rooms of parties in SF and seeing him perform with his full band to the largest crowd they've ever performed for at last year's OSL was pretty awesome. Here's a pic:

Tycho are a definite must see.

Only knew their name before seeing them at FYF (I thought he was still just a DJ), didn't know one song by them, and was COMPLETELY blown away. I completely forgot about whatever other band I was trying to see at the same time and they wound up being one of my top 3 of the weekend.

Definitely a top 5 for Coachella this year.

FYF set was surreal, especially the transition from Slowdive to Tycho. Really hoping Coachella gives them a sunset spot because his/their music fits perfectly in an outdoor, sunset setting.

Saw them twice at Crescent Ballroom in Phoenix and would love to experience Tycho outdoors... definitely at sunset.

I actually think they need a night time set with a back drop so they can do their visuals. I suspect they'll be a 10:00 Mojave. In fact, I could do a War on Drugs>Bad Religion>Tycho close-out of the Mojave on Saturday.

Tycho at FYF was phenomenal. Such a beautiful amalgamation of music and setting. I'm all for a nighttime set, preferably on the Outdoor.

Caught them at FYF and was fucking amazed. I'm excited to see them again because if I remember correctly Scott said the visuals weren't working correctly and they had to improvise and had someone doing the visuals live.

I may have said this before, but when I fucked up and tried to see Caribou, failed, then tried for Slowdive & failed, the disappointment subsided as I saw Tycho perform.

    Tycho is Scott Hansen
    ISO50 is Scott Hansen

When Scott first began performing as Tycho, he would control the visuals, play guitar and other electronic gear live. Now, Scott has a live backing band performing with him and doesn't control the visuals live, which frees him to focus on the music more.

I saw the very first live performance by Scott and his live backing band. The first incarnation of the band actually included a female vocalist and the performance was at the the Sacramento Electronic Music Festival in January of 2011. I've also seen Tycho perform with Dusty Brown live, which was at Seattle's Decibel Festival in September of 2009. Like I said, I love Tycho and have seen him a lot (11 times since 2007).

Close out against Jack White? I doubt it. I agree with you that they will have a sunset slot or later. I'm in love with playing this guys when im at work or on a night drive.

I get what you are saying, but with multiple people on stage you aren't seeing 1 person. Scott is the brains behind everything, but he now works with Zac and Rory both live and in studio since touring for Dive. You're techincall not just seeing a "him" as you are watching "them" play the music. Not a DJ set or solo show. All I am saying.

Totally and even though Scott has sole writing and composing credits for Awake, I do not discount the positive influence the members of the band have had both on the stage and in the studio.

They definitely come off as a group ensemble rather than Scott and the Jordanaires.
