and after you hear "Death Letter" live, its just not possible to listen to it on De Stijl anymore
I don't think I will hear or read a truer statement all day.
I saw them play it at Chene Park in Detroit (with the Strokes opening, behind their first album). Absolutely blew me away. Jack has been quoted as saying that he'll only play it if the show is going well.
A small enclosed room with no windows. And I like it.
Re: Can The White Stripes Headline?
If TDubS was gonna be there again I would go see them, but I wouldn't want them to be main headliners. Subs, yeah, but main big'uns -no. I'm kinda hoping that this year won't have too many repeats from previous years. But, like I said, I would see them if they were there and be mighty stoked about it.
Various news outlets are reporting that Jack White is interested in recording with Thom Yorke of Radiohead once Jack's neck injury is healed up. Here is what they are saying:
"Jack White will hit the studio with Radiohead frontman Thom Yorke as soon as he is fully recovered from his neck injury. The White Stripes singer is suffering from a slipped disc and has been ordered to rest for two months. But he reveals Yorke will be the first person he calls when he's ready to perform again - and he's already got a few songs ready. He says, "We've known each other for a while now. But the doctors said I couldn't perform for two months. I've been writing a lot instead."
*gasp* He hurt his neck and no one told me???
and theres no doubt that that a good chunk of that writing he's been doing is for the alleged new stripes album next year.
oh yeah, thom yorke too
