Thread: The Avalanches

If it doesn't happen this year it wont ever happen. Still want to get a chance to see what they are like live. I'm not going to complain if they suck live now, so be it. Just walk to another stage and keep enjoying Since I left You when I get home.

They haven't played live in years, so how exactly would you know this?

I personally don't care too much about their return of live performances. Again, we could be wrong and it blows us away. I just want the album.

The Avalanches seminal debut Since I Left You is set to get the deluxe treatment with a 10-Year Anniversary issue in the works.
The re-issue will feature "the original classic album accompanied by a bonus disc of material including remixes from the original album campaign, new reworks from the likes of El Guincho, MF Doom, Canyons, Black Dice, Jackson and his Computer Band, some exquisite Avalanches remixes of other artists, plus unreleased early b-sides, demo tracks and other such rarities.
"I think we'll get a couple of singles out this year but the album will be early next year I think."

    Another update..

    http://pitchfork.com/news/44922-the-...nifer-herrema/
This morning, they Tweeted, "new song 'the stepkids' w/ Jennifer RTX . current album working titles - 'on a saturday' / 'friday night fever'". And they added this photo, which seem to be the lyrics to a new song.

I thought the Bon Iver and The Avalanches argument was hilarious. That aside, I hope the new album is due out in the near future.

    ....

Cut Copy could be recording with fellow Melbourne band The Avalanches after an Instagram photograph was posted on Twitter.

Cut Copy are currently in the studio working on their fourth record, the follow up to the #3 ARIA charting album, Zonoscope.

The quartet posted the below pictures with the tweet "A visit from the Avalanches in the studio today!"

This is all very, very good news.

The soundcloud link to the new track http://soundcloud.com/tonedeaf/the-avalanches-a-cowboy

It's oh so quiet, but shades of the Avalanches we know are there.

So far we have Ariel Pink and now Danny Brown doing a collaboration with them, to which Danny Brown said "It'll change the world."

So...Every 14 years we get 3 possible songs. Let's do this.

But seriously, does anybody give a fuck anymore? Obviously they don't. Dexter certainly doesn't.
