I'm probably alone on this one but MIA really grinds my gears. Can't stand the bitch.
i had 40 oz. to Freedom and Robbin the Hood, and was into em', and Steppin' Razor I still think is an amazing cover. Somewhere along the line they just seemed more like music for 'guys with trucks drinking every Fri/Sat night at bars in Huntington Beach' than me. Maybe just KROQ playing them more than any other band except RHCP for years just slowly drove me insane. Overexposure might have done it
the song with Gwen was fun too
Edit: from other thread maybe that's it too, i had chemical parity with the band, back then, but eventually stopped partying like that so the music didn't resonate anymore

I had nothing against David Bowie until I stayed with a family friend during Lollapalooza and got my ear fucked as to how great David Bowie was and was shown all his videos and shit and records played against my will....and now i hate the guy. not cause he makes bad music or anything, cause of how this bitch exposed me.

I understand that maybe some music sounds better live because you have the whole crowd experience and stage show and such, or sometimes bands/musicians change up the sound to make it more acoustic or droney or whatever. But I still don't fully get it when people make the "oh but you have to see them live" comment. Most people have a limited amount of time and money. It seems silly to expect somebody to pay $15-60 for a concert ticket and go and see a band they really don't enjoy on CD just because they might like the sound better in a performance environment. Music festivals are the exception to the rule, I guess, in the sense that you're already there and you've already paid your money. But still, there are usually alternatives which are more appealing than a band you've been unimpressed with via recordings.
