So, the Emancipator is opening for Bassnectar along with Eliot Lip when Lorin comes to Seattle, which means that I have to make a difficult decision...I don't like Bassnectar, but would really like to see the Emancipator and definitely wouldn't mind seeing Eliot Lipp again...damnit.

I would buy that in a heartbeat.

So I saw DJ Krush for the first time this evening. I skipped the openers and just showed up for his 2 hour set. Neumos was packed with Sunday drunks who were pretty excited to be at the show, overall it was pretty good stuff. He spun an eclectic mix of music, which included some of his older songs, trip-hop, dub-step, jungle, some DJ Shadow songs, 90s hip-hop, etc. It was pretty good, but he did slightly flub a couple of mixes, including one during the encore...oops. He also did a couple dub-step mixes of the songs Hotel California and Billie Jean.

Its always fun to see him with Christian Martin/bros. I saw a show with Bil Bless and Christian it was one of the best shows I have see in years.

Crenshaw's(vonstroke) essential mix is required listening material.

I've seen all of and have met most of the Dirtybird crew. They are all very talented individuals and pretty chill too. They have their 5 year anniversary party coming up:

It would be rad if you could send it my way.

/Fikus, that party would be awesome, but I have way too much to do the next day to justify going to it. If you go, let me know how it is. Although I guess you are in Seattle, so you probably aren't going.

Agreed. Looking back at 1999's line up is kind of depressing in the sense that the festival's acts had so much more soul. Autechre? Bola? DJ Shadow? u-ziq? Amon Tobin? Luke Vibert? Mira Calix?

    Tiesto?? What is this shit?

Yeah, looking at the early lineups, it seemed like Coachella was primarily electronic and hip hop acts with a few indie rock acts scattered throughout. Now it's switched.

I want LUKE VIBERT and I fucking want it at Coachella 2010

Seriously with all the records he put out this past year? Why not. He's in the same class as Aphex Twin yet doesn't get the respect.

just look at 2001. That is many an electronic festival with a few other acts.

So jealous that even though Aphex wasn't there, Plaid and Squarepusher were.
