Dl their live record. It is fantastic. Just imagine a stripped down version of that, and you have Acoustic Mainlines.

Well, they have not released a studio album since 2003 (Amazing Grace), which reached number #25 on the UK charts. Their two albums before that also both charted in the UK. Ladies and Gentlemen we are Floating in Space was one of the most well received albums of 1997/1998 and placed #4 on the UK charts. Let it Come Down did well also. Just because YOU have not heard of them until now does not mean they are under-recognized.
RAPE STOVE
white power?!
Hmmm... Yeah, well I just find it strange I hadn't heard of them whatsoever, not even in conversation, till I came on this board.
Upcoming Shows:
- Caribou @ The Fonda in Los Angeles on Saturday, February 28th
- The Replacements @ The Palladium in Los Angeles on Wednesday, April 15th
- Belle & Sebastian + Mac Demarco @ The Fox Theater in Pomona, CA on Thursday, April 16th
6x Coachella Attendee (2007 - 2011, 2014a)
I don't have it on my computer. You can find it online I am sure.
no thanks to an acoustic "stripped down" show.
I want big sonic electric noise. At least this solves some potential conflicts.
You have no idea what you are missing.
I love Spiritualized. If you forced me to name a favorite band it very well may be them.
I don't think I'm hosting a 2016 collaborative playlist.
It's raining, I'm not walking a mile to get to campus, dammit.
So, Here you go.
The sound quality is really good on this one, and the setlist is stellar. You'll get an idea for what the Acoustic Mainlines shows sound like.
Thanks for the link! and also, i realize it was you who did Spiritualized in the youngins guide thread...so thanks for that too...
last year the poster just said 'Soulwax' when it was first posted. the words 'Nite Versions' were added in later. this could be the same.
oooh. that would be awesome!
I'd also suggest them playing the hollywood bowl with the LA philharmonic, if I thought they could play a venue that big in this country. but they can't. I think they'd be awesome with an orchestra though.
What stage does everyone think Spiritualized are goint to play on? Mainstage before Love and Rockets, MMJ and Roger Waters? Or the outdoor theatre, likely conflicting with either Love and Rockets, MMJ and/or Roger Waters?
If they conflict with Love and Rockets, I would watch Love and Rockets because I've already seen Acoustic Mainlines. However, this can't happen. It would break my heart.
I was imagining Spiritualized followed by MMJ on the outdoor theatre, with Love and Rockets followed by Roger Waters on the main stage.
but who knows. my stage predictions are often way off.
please. no conflict with Roger Waters. he and Spiritualized are the biggest draws for me on sunday. I couldn't make it to the acoustic mainlines tour. I don't want to miss it again. please. no conflict...
when will the microcommunity let us pick our favorites for this year? they use that data to try and avoid conflicts sometimes...
I think it will be:
Main Stage:
Spiritualized (sunset) --> My Morning Jacket --> Roger Waters
Outdoor Theatre:
Metric (sunset) --> Love & Rockets --> The Streets (opposite RW)
Upcoming Shows:
- Caribou @ The Fonda in Los Angeles on Saturday, February 28th
- The Replacements @ The Palladium in Los Angeles on Wednesday, April 15th
- Belle & Sebastian + Mac Demarco @ The Fox Theater in Pomona, CA on Thursday, April 16th
6x Coachella Attendee (2007 - 2011, 2014a)
That or he might be in the Mojave mid-day.
I agree with you, Bryan, but I think that MMJ is going to be on before Roger Waters because their styles mesh better together...
6x Coachella Attendee (2007 - 2011, 2014a)
I don't think that Love and Rockets will be at the Outdoor Theater. They are second on the bill. Usually that is indicative of a main stage slot.
Damnit, I hate when the precedent sets this shit up...
Okay, swap MMJ and L&R, and that's how I think it'll end up.

Wouldn't The Streets make sense to close the Gobi?

ug....i'm bummed that's it's gonna be an acoustic mainline and not an electric mainline set. don't get me wrong....jason can do no wrong....it's just that i don't know how well the beauty and sparceness would go over in a festival setting...and truth be told, i'm not sure i'll be in the mood for it. the vista theater was a perfect setting for it...receptive audience...pristine sound...intimate in every sense of the word. fast forward to coachella where it's always trying to do too much in too little time....with the constant din of bleeding stages...who knows. barring some major conflict...i'll give it a shot.
i'm even more bummed that it looks like the stars are aligning for the new festival to get radiohead, mbv, and spiritualized electric.
on the upside....it's another chance to see jason with the hottest backing band since robert palmer's addicted to love.

Yeah, this would really kill me. Metric, The Streets, MMJ, and Roger Waters are arguably the top 4 acts I want to see this year. Skipped Metric for Phoenix, skipped MMJ for Kanye in 2006, and I've been waiting and waiting for the Streets to come. Meanwhile, from the sound of it, Spiritualized sounds like something I'm going to want to see at sunset, especially if it gives me a prime spot for MMJ.
Anyway, Metric played a midday Sahara set in '06, so they've gotta be moving up to a later Outdoor Theatre or Mainstage show. MMJ played Sunset Outdoor last time, so they'll inevitably be before RW. I guess I'm just really hoping The Streets plays a midday tent, Metric plays the mainstage earlier, and then Spiritualized-->MMJ-->RW.
Ugh. Sunday's going to break my heart, I can just feel it.
that wasn't the sahara, that was the mojave.
also, we can totally re-think our strategies here:
Spritualized has been moved to Saturday!
from their official website:
also, Electric Mainlines as early as may!25.01.08 | April Acoustic Mainlines USA
There will be two additional Acoustic Mainline dates prior to the show at Coachella on April 26th (change of day to that advertised).

and I want to see the ® by their name on the poster.
