Friday is overloaded with acts I want to catch.
I'd rather watch Jack Johnson than Portishead.
A contrarian investor believes that the people who say the market is going up do so only when they are fully invested and have no further purchasing power. At this point the market is at a peak. On the other hand, when people predict a downturn, they have already sold out, at which point the market can only go up.
It will weed out plenty of people this year, which will be kinda nice. I'm still raging about Jack Johnson but I know I will just be elsewhere, hopefully watching Fatboy Slim kill the Sahara (how crowded could that get with all the JJ backlash already?). That's the beauty of Coachella, you don't HAVE to see a headliner.
But Roger Waters will be fine enough, I didn't even have energy for Rage last year. I'll be ready for an easier show Sunday night that will still be phenomenal. And Portishead will be amazing, Saturday could be quite the day.
Plus Sunday's got Justice, Spiritualized and Gogol Bordello. That's reason enough there. Add Waters and MMJ and a plethora more and that sounds like a more than reasonable day of Coachella.
Friday = weak though
I only caught 1 of 3 main stage headliners last year. I have a couple of days to decide if I'll go or not.
FOI--have you actually watched clips of their live show and you're just tasteless or you're basing it on small doses of their albums?

The first one's fixed. Go listen to The Coup or something.
eh, I guess some people dont have the patience or attention span for a good downtempo tune. The music on both of those vids is sexy as hell to me.
Edit* are those vids from the "live w/ Jules" show?
**double edit: No they are from the roseland ballroom in NYC
I'm going to take so much ecstasy that glorious bitch is going to break me in half with her voice. I can't wait.
At least there are some people in this thread lookin' at the positive of Coachella '08 and not most of the other 18 and under threads where people are complaining. I mean I am not sure I am going to go, but wtf keep complaining about it. I just don't know if I can swing that much money for a lineup I am not super excited about, when I am moving from NY to California 2 weeks before Coachella.
With that said, there are a bunch of acts I would love to see....
Portishead, Kraftwerk, Booka Shade, Modeselektor, M.I.A., Roger Waters....and others I am sure. Can't wait to hear how people wind up realizing they had a great time, even after they were complaining.
Without music life would be a mistake. - Friedrich Wilhelm Nietzsche
Your thermos would fit nice in my lunchbox....
Us on hard drugs? That would be horrible. We'd probably end up sounding like Bryan Adams. - Thom Yorke
This is my favorite lineup in 4 years. They did a great job with Latin bands. I can't wait to see Cafe tacuva, Austin tv and Porter. Kraftwerck and Portishead are gonna be awesome.
