At a news conference scheduled for today, Tollett and his business partners, which include concert promotion giant AEG Live, plan to announce the full lineup for the ninth edition of the Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival in Indio this April. It will include the Verve, the Raconteurs, Jack Johnson, My Morning Jacket and Rilo Kiley.

i'm still hoping/praying, but i have alot less faith in the 'ol ace-up-the-sleeve this year... especially with this:

this may mean no big headliners that are gonna make people go nuts! regardless im there cuz there will be so many great bands. but maybe not the legends we think we r getting...
Why would I think this?? Well, let's see... The said L.A. Times article also mentions Jack Johnson as headlining the upcoming 'east-coast Coachella' alongside Radiohead, so why wouldn't I assume he'd be considered a headliner out here as well?
Also, the article really mentions how significant the first U.S. shows by Verve & Portishead, in like a decade, are... that, and the above quote stating they are finding it difficult to secure "splashy, must-see headliners"
But, HEY!, if i'm wrong and the headliners are:
Then fine, it'd be f'ing amazing & i'd pay for your ticket myself... but it ain't gonna happen... and throwing in Prince or some weak reunion act ain't gonna beef it up any...
I never said The Verve playing WASN'T a big deal... i'll go watch all three of these bands (less excited about Johnson though)... and my POINT is that these acts aren't big enough to headline, so why are you arguing my own point with me?
Shit, they could have two monkeys blowing each other on the main stage and it wouldn't matter, cause that ain't where i'm most likely to be anyway...
yeah... then again, they pulled Rage outta their ass last year... NOBODY saw that coming (we were all too preoccupied assuming The Police were playing...) Weren't we all happier when the poster actually came out than the lineup we thought we were gonna get?
Weren't we all happier when the poster actually came out than the lineup we thought we were gonna get?
I'm pretty sure it's like that every year..

not compared to previous headliners, but they're one of the biggest deals on THIS year's... i mean, Jack Johnson's NOT a big deal either (oooh, Curious George soundtrack in it's entirety!!!YAY!), but he's still headlining...
