Lot's o' clutter (speculation, outdated posts, etc.) awaits when just entering "confirmed" on the search engine. Don't get me wrong...although I have been attending the festival since '99, I am new as a member (lurker) here...so I appreciate any advice given. However, it seems a little tricky finding one solid thread completely devoid of conjecture.

Yeah, it would have been tough to spot it on here. To answer your question, this was posted a few weeks back on their website, so we have known for a little while. A lot of the bands that put Coachella on their page will go up in one of the "Confirmed" threads, so keep an eye out for one of those.
