I haven't listened to them in a while, but I'd definitely be happy to see them on the lineup.
"Yes, I am indeed beautiful! Sometimes I sit and wonder, in my artless Japanese way, why it is that I am so much more attractive than anybody else in the whole world. Can this be vanity? No! Nature is lovely and rejoices in her loveliness. I am a child of Nature, and take after my mother."

do you think anyone could convince him to just play 'Satyricon' in its entirety?

that would numb the mind a little, wouldn't it?

I remember reading a couple of years back that he once did a show in brixton, and was experimenting with bass frequencies so low that they reversed the bowels of some of the attendees, literally sending people to the bathrooms.

not that he should do that at coachella, but that's freakin awesome.

    MBM for 08!

Great news, even if they don't play Coachella. The House of Blues show a couple years ago was 2.5 hours long and was mindblowing. Wherever they play in socal, I'm there.

Is this the group Michael Franti used to be a part of?

    Ah.

Well I just did a bit of research, and found that Franti worked with Jack Dangers a bit in the early 90s. Wouldnt quite call him a member.

josh you a fan of mbm?

Michael Franti was not part of MBM, but Jack Dangers did some production on Michael's Disposable Heroes of Hiphopracy album in the early 90s.

Anyways, the HOB show for MBM was Jack Dangers behind a wall of laptops and audio gear, Ben Stokes doing live video mixing, Lynn Farmer on drums, and Z-Trip on turntables. They played through all their classics from Storm the Studio, 99% and Satyricon, with a smattering of Subliminal Sandwich and D.H.S. (The House of God track).
The greatest part was that ALL of the samples in all the tracks were being shown on the video screens, original sources! It was truly glorious. The crowd was a mix of ordinary looking 30somethings and ravers. We loved it so much we trekked up to SF a couple months later just to see Jack perform again with D.H.S., which was a very similar show with a bit more acid sounds.

Here's the tracklist from the Live in Chicago CD they released from the tour, it's a great recording, seek it out. (They played much more in the show)
    I Am Electro
    Spinning Round
    Hello Teenage Amerika
    Radio Babylon
    God O.D.
    No Purpose, No Design
    It's the Music
    Nuclear Bomb
    Helter Skelter
    Edge of No Control
    Prime Audio Soup
    Do It With Soul

You owe it to yourself to see MBM play live. And right now I'm almost preferring/hoping for a non Coachella appearance so I can see a longer set.

wow. that sampling thing sounds sick. I really want to see them live, and maybe get a few more of their albums. I love Actual Sounds/Voices, and the first half RUOK is great. I've also got Armed Audio Warfare as well as At The Center, which are both good, but I havent given the latter an in depth listen to just yet. I'd like to get some of their earlier stuff.

but that live sample thing sounds sick. If he tours, he'd best come near my neck of the woods.

Ah. You're probably familiar with their song Prime Audio Soup, which gained popularity from being on The Matrix OST.

You should check out Actual Sounds+Voices by them if you want to check them out more. Great album.

So I'm planning to take a 4 hour trip to Orlando tomorrow night to see Meat Beat Manifesto and found out that Mum is playing the same date for about the same price at a different venue. I've ruled out the possibility of seeing them both, cause the doors open about the same time. I've never seen mum live before and love their music but I really love me some meat beat.

If you had to choose who would you go see? (i've seen Meat beat twice on the last tour)
