Speaking of Christmas songs:

Asobi Seksu's Xmas record is limited to only 300 copies! Ouch!
James Chance - Christmas With Satan
Fear - Fuck Christmas
Whiskey Sour
2 oz blended whiskey
Juice of 1/2 lemon
1/2 tsp powdered sugar
1 cherry
1/2 slice lemon
Shake blended whiskey, juice of lemon, and powdered sugar with ice and strain into a whiskey sour glass. Decorate with the half-slice of lemon, top with the cherry, and serve.
i've never seen the movie, but judy garland singing "have yourself a merry little christmas" is the best. i tend to be more partial to songs in my range, lol, but also i always liked it because it wasn't 100% cheery. it was kind of about coming together and just wishing for the best for the future, but also remember to enjoy being wherever you are now.
Are You Coming Over for Christmas - Belle and Sebastian

"The Most Wonderful Time Of The Year"
I loved when it was used in JINGLE ALL THE WAY when everyones trying to get a lottery ball
And it's been one of my faves every since.
And of course, "All I Want For Christmas Is To Get Crunk".
Tune to your local hip hop station sometime this season and I'm sure you'll hear it.

Thanks for Christmas by The Three Wise Men (XTC) is pretty good too.
"Well, that's just like, you know... your opinion, man"
isnt the best selling single of all time white christmas by bing crosby?
I claim authority on this subject, having worked in a toyshop at Christmas and heard every Christmas song on earth four hundred thousand times.
And for Christ's sake, there is only one answer, and that's Fairy Tale of New York.
Christmas, without that song, would not be Christmas for me. No Yuletide is complete without a bit of hopeless dirty loser love. Hard to find an uncensored version of it.
It's the "I could have been someone! / Well so could anyone..." line that always gets me.
RIP Kirsty MacColl.

YES.
No more.
Really? With all the Outkast fans here nobody posted this yet? I guess it's not technically a Christmas song but still ...
Far more depressing than the subject matter of the song - a junkie and a drunk who've ruined each other's lives - was the awful popstar cover of it a while back, with all the offensive words swapped out.

...cuz it ain't Christmas without Nat King Cole!
I miss talking to TomAz.
We all do. I live in the same city as him (unless he relocated) and rumor has it that at 3:15am if you listen closely and its really really quiet you can hear him telling you to go fuck yourself.
Most of my favorites have been mentioned... but I also like
Lou Monte - Dominic the Italian Christmas Donkey
and
Jon Bon Jovi and the Intergalactic Droid Choir - R2-D2 We Wish You a Merry Christmas
as far as Christmas novelty songs go
this whole blah damn album is excellent, it's been my favorite christmas album since i was a little kid:
additional xmas songs i love are:
john lennon & the plastic ono band - happy xmas (war is over) [the polyphonic spree version is nice too]
radiohead - white christmas
spike jones & his city slickers - all i want for christmas is my two front teeth
I love old school Christmas music, things I remember from when I was a tiny little kid(most of them are from before I was born, but so what) Rat Pack, Johnny Mathis, Nat King Cole...
I can never get into most contemporary Christmas music...
although Sarah Brightman singing anything is gorgeous
'99-'11...
