I saw Cloud Nothings and METZ a few weeks apart in 2010, and METZ was the better live act. Cloud Nothings was excellent, but METZ man. So vicious.
Both bands were fucking amazing last night. The heat in the Roxy is a major, major issue though. It was like a sauna in there.
7/31/15 - Melt Banana w/Torche @ Roxy // 8/22/15-8/23/15 - FYF Fest @ Exposition Park // 9/17/15 - Hum w/Mineral @ Regent //9/26/15 - Titus Andronicus @ Roxy
10/20/15 - Blur @ Hollywood Bowl // 11/12/15 - Desaparacidos @ Teragram Ballroom // 11/21/15 - Blind Guardian @ City National Grove of Anaheim
Probably as bad as Lauryn Hill at the Crystal Ballroom on Sunday. It was a 96 degree day. Venue is on the third (top) floor, no AC, and windows don't open. Borderline miserable. She put on an amazing show though.
Future Islands @ Fonda was a tougher pull than I was expecting
I didn't realize they were releasing a new album this year:

I saw they had an application of change of ownership of the Roxy posted on it. I wonder what they are going to do with it, the application said uses, general, food service, something like that.
Is there anything right by the venue? I'm heading down straight after work.

Right by the Shrine? Free birds would be nearest to the venue, burritos, tacos, etc. It's pretty good.
If you are talking about Saturday and the ace, the nearest is Umami Burger and Two boots pizza.

I've been thinking the same for Saturday. Nick Cave is total whiskey music.
I always pre game with pocket shot, it's the only way to get booze into the venue totally undetected, a liquor store near me carries them...
Check this link...
Superfan will be in front of the Fonda masturbating furiously to a photo of him taking a photo of a band. Set is from 8:05 to approximately 8:05:15. Guest list only.
Upcoming Shows: Spamalot (7/31), HARD (8/1) 2001 Space Odyssey with LA Phil (8/12), Opeth (10/18), TOOL (10/31), Coachella 2016 (WK1), David Gilmour (Wherever I need to go)
Anybody else gonna see Mac Demarco Tonight in LA?
Lucidity, come back to me. Put all five senses back to where they're meant to be.
