Possibly! I wonder if it's gonna be crowded or not. Has anyone been to Grand Park's events like this or if there have been at all?

It is going to be incredibly crowded. Last year about 10,000 people were there for the festivities and the fireworks and there weren't really any recognizable name acts. For NYE they prepared for 20,000 people and more than 60k showed up; they had to shut the gates and turn people away.

I read a statement yesterday that on Friday they are expecting 25,000 and preparing for 50,000. DO NOT DRIVE TO THE PARK. Use the subway. It's going to be nuts. Be aware that there is no alcohol at the event and security will be strict.

I guess it's probably more hassle than it's worth, coming from Orange County.

Oh wow ... wouldn't have known if I didn't ask. Thanks for the info! My friends and I are probably gonna take the Metro and get to the area early and pregame at a bar nearby

The city is touting this as being the biggest fireworks display in the city since 1995. There is a lot of publicizing going on from City Hall.

Also, there are lot of bars and things to do in the area. Just get there early!

Head Wound City is onsale now. Still a bargain between this date for $10 and the one before at the fest for only $5.

If there is ever a recognizable name and the word "FREE" on it, it'll be overcrowded...although I think 98.7 is selling tickets for the pit (or maybe just a giveaway?) I'll be at a couple roof bars in downtown on Friday night and catch the fireworks from there.

I saw the show in San Francisco last night. Very solid, also quite emotional for Erika (at one point, she had to take a moment off stage to regain her composure). Apparently, upon first moving to CA, she used to couch surf in West Oakland and wrote some of EMAs early songs during this time period, i.e. California. A bunch of her Oakland/SF friends were in attendance as well. I was able to snaggle a set list and Erika signed it while hanging out afterward.

Such a pity that airlines haven't caught onto the whole customer service thing and can't help you figure that out.

The Forum would be logical if it were part of a full-on tour, but the whole psst! thing makes it sound like a more intimate event if I were to guess.

Found myself at Queen+Adam Lambert tonight. I'm surprised how much I enjoyed it. Fat Bottom Girls, 39 and Radio Ga Ga? Great. No Bicycle Race or Don't Stop Me now? That sucked. Lambert is no Mercury but I wasn't counting on that. Finally seeing Brian May live was the best reason to be there.

Gotta add that the Forum is MUCH improved. Couldn't believe my eyes when I first got in the place.
