pretty sure people will be seated for most of the show and as this is an old theater, the floor will be surely slanted. you'll be able to see great. You're not that far from the stage really.

I was finally able to pull Orch row BB and bought them. Not excited I had to put $180 on a credit card I just paid the balance down on, but I can't wait for this show!

The National @ The Shrine 3/25

Full Live Concert & Theatrical Premiere of "Mistaken For Strangers"

MISTAKEN FOR STRANGERS SETS U.S. THEATRICAL PREMIERE

GRAMMY® NOMINATED THE NATIONAL ANNOUNCE COINCIDING LOS ANGELES PREMIERE AND CONCERT

A hilarious and moving portrait of family, ambition and rock stardom.

GRAMMY® nominated rock band The National were set to embark on the biggest tour of their career. The band is comprised of two sets of bothers—twins Aaron and Bryce Dessner on guitar, and Bryan and Scott Devendorf on drums and bass. Lead singer Matt Berninger, the only member without a sibling in the band, decided to invite his metalhead younger brother, Tom, to join the band’s crew as a roadie. Much to Matt’s chagrin, Tom soon began to ignore his roadie duties in order to make an unsanctioned documentary about the band. Tom’s camera captures his journey as he finds himself living in Matt’s shadow and acting out in a way only a little brother can—drinking, complaining, and struggling to balance his ambition with his responsibilities. An amazingly intimate and surprising film, Mistaken For Strangers delves into the joys and struggles of brotherhood. Pitchfork calls it, “The funniest, most meta music movie since Spinal Tap.” The film, which opened the 2013 Tribeca Film Festival, will see its theatrical premiere on March 25, 2014 at the Shrine Auditorium in Los Angeles. The gala event wouldn’t be complete without a performance from The National, so they will be on hand to celebrate with a full concert.

Well it my first time ever at Slim's last night for Pere Ubu which I thought the venue was a lot better than expected.I liked the whole up side enterance by a few stairs to the middle of the venue.I The pillars that I have heard complaints about are a lot thinner than I picture. Which was like the Echo or Echoplex.$4 beers and the sound was decent for last night. Also Im interested in trying the Tacos there.David Thompson loves to banter from Icey's review and last night performance. He goes into ghost town and the ladies gibberish a lot and refers himself simliar to a creepy Uncle.Later in the set someone in the crowd throws and connects a cup of water with DavId Thompson face when he tried going back into one of his already too WELL known "the ladies"banters. The setlist was almost even with old new wave songs and new" The Ubu dance music" songs.

really? I bought and was then trying to pull up tickets again just minutes after 10, and none came up. I only had the SPACE password though. maybe the ACE ones lasted longer. I didn't get their email until 11.47 and couldn't check the thread for another password because I was stuck in a last minute meeting at work. I was lucky I was able to buy the tickets at all. ended up with orch row w. not the best but I'll deal. or maybe try for two more tomorrow. end of story.

Did same. I used ACE. NO tickets were coming up after 10 minutes searching Best Available. It went quick. Hard to say what's going to be available tomorrow.

Btw, the blurb from GV about VIP being in the first two rows does not appear to be accurate

    ABOUT VIP TICKETS:

There will be a pre party for VIP ticket holders and guest of the band and hotel with open bar. The pre party will run for two hours prior to doors 6:00pm – 8:00pm. VIP Ticket holders will also be the front two rows inside the theatre.

What a treat it was to be able to see Pere Ubu tonight. A band that I would probably never have discovered if not for this board - particularly Still-Ill and SoulDischarge. The band was wonderfully energetic, the songs sounded great both new and old, really just a fantastic time. David Thomas was every bit the character you'd imagine him to be up on stage...the audience could have been a tad less stationary, but what can you do. So happy I got to see them.
