Worst place that I've been to. My friends and I got there around 12:30am and we waited in line for over 30 minutes because they wouldn't let my friend in with a ticket that her cousin bought as a birthday present. The security said you need the person who bought the tickets to be present or you're not getting in. I heard some people in line saying they paid $100 on stubhub and were leaving to go home. The security kept yelling "We're at capacity" while letting some bros with their girlfriends walk in b/c they'll get bottle service. Anyway, we got in around 1am after making bs excuse (after all of this, they didn't even scan our tickets!) but it was a clusterfuck! The dance floor was a tad on the small side (tables scattered around the floor? Seriously?!) and filled with people that don't dance (instead taking pictures/videos!). But on the plus side, the sound system wasn't bad (not nearly as good as Output) and the fog machine that kept your temperature down if you were standing in the right spot! They played a great mix of songs but it was kinda lame to hear them play their own music haha.

ps Fonda show was probably the best that I've seen them. Loved Fonda (outdoor patio thumbs up!) and the bar next door (I forgot the name already but it had over 20 beers on top) which you could walk in/out from the venue! The floor wasn't too packed and I thought T. Williams was great even though there were probably 50 people watching his set when he started. Can't wait to see them again in Philly next week!

Agreed, it was an awesome show from beginning to end. T. Williams' set was pretty fun (wouldn't mind seeing him in the Yuma Tent next year). As far as the initial small crowd, I know it's LA and people tend to be late, but maybe the fact that there were a lot of shows going on in Hollywood that night, plus the usual Friday night Hollywood activity, factored in. That, or people are lazy and missing out. Great crowd that night, though.

I had not been to the Fonda in a few years, and the raised sections to the left and right of the stage were a great viewing area of the show, especially for my girlfriend, since she's shorter and usually there is someone blocking her view.

Also, next time, I will have to check out the Blue Palms.

Won't dismiss the point, but the untitled/self-titled record they are celebrating with these shows is the one that distinctly moved away from that subject matter but I digress.

Blink 182 was a novilty act when I was in high school, I am surprised they aren't on the county fair circuit yet.

Depends on the demographic you ask, but that record is definitely a massive departure from everything prior. Klein's kind of over-exaggerating the pop-punk aspect.

Actually, this is a good read with respect to that.

Did they sing about the trials and tribulations of being a freshman at college?

Blink will always hold a special place in my heart. First time I saw them was in maybe '94 at the Showcase Theater in Corona, playing second on a bill of 5 bands. Had a lot of good times at their shows, eventually ending up working for 98 Posse(Holla, Psychic Friend)and co-promoting a bunch of their shows with Goldenvoice. Lots of crazy backstage antics, shots before taking the stage, etc. Was at a disneyland grad night with my friends band, the Aquabats, the night after Travis left them to join Blink. He went from making little money to his first show with the Blink being a girl's private bday party in Utah and making something like $16,000 for the show. Insane. So many great memories, may just have to go and relive a few.
