I posted this in the Ticket thread, but I'm selling a single .pdf ticket for Glasser at the Masonic Lodge this Thursday 10/10; $25, which is face value. PM me if you're interested!

Wow! I remember when they use to play almost every week for free or less.

    Amazing!

    Edit:

It says on the site The Naked and Famous are opening.

    TheKlein or equivalent,

Are the Imagine Dragons singles released thus far a fair summation of their sound? I find "It's Time" entirely mediocre, "Radioactive" overproduced and "Demons" just bad. Is there ANYTHING on their record that's a departure from these qualities? I'm trying to understand the appeal.

Na I'd say that's their sound. I'd listen to hear me or Amsterdam but they got that catchy pop appeal that just makes people happy

Update on Fiona Apple and Blake Mills tonight:

I fucking hate Blake Mills. He is officially my second-least-favorite Mills ever. Holy shit did that dickhead ever waste a lot of our time with terrible excuses for blues guitar. It might be the laziest, shittiest guitar work I've seen since... hmm... the guy who replaced Gilmour at Coach 2008.

    Issue Project Room <3

    Wed, November 13, 2013 - 7:30pm
ISSUE Project Room, 22 Boerum Place, Brooklyn
    Kim Gordon by Kwark Frietveld

ISSUE’s two-night benefit concert series honoring legendary artist Kim Gordon opens with Gordon’s most recent project, the epic free-noise guitar duo Body/Head. The night begins with a VIP reception at 7:30pm, including an intimate performance by Gordon, plus a special musical guest to be announced soon. Food and drink are by Rucola in Boerum Hill. At 9:00pm Body/Head perform in a trio with guest Ikue Mori.

Body/Head are an electric guitar duo comprised of Kim Gordon and Bill Nace formed in 2012. Initially their approach was almost entirely instrumental— lattices of interwoven feedback, recalling everyone from Heldon to Keiji Haino against a backdrop of slow-motion film projection. Gordon’s voice has since creeped into the mix, and her signature vocals have become an intrinsic part of their musical architecture.

From her beginnings with the seminal no wave unit DNA, Ikue Mori has always had a distinctively percussive sensibility. She abandoned her kit for decades, creating pioneering drum machine and software improvisations, and collaborating with fellow downtown icons John Zorn, Fred Frith and Kim Gordon among many others. Body/Head has brought Mori back to the drums, a super group that is not to be missed.

    Thu, November 14, 2013 - 8:00pm
ISSUE Project Room, 22 Boerum Place, Brooklyn
Kim Gordon and Jutta Koether by Andrew Russeth

ISSUE’s benefit concert series honoring artist Kim Gordon closes in a duo performance with Jutta Koether, acclaimed painter, writer, and member of the artist band XXX Macarena. Having collaborated in the past in performances, installations and videos, the duo share an unabashed pleasure in disregard for technique. The result is physical, fierce and free. Gordon will be joined in a second duo set with a special guest collaborator TBA.

    November 21, 2013
    Body/Head
with Kim Gordon and Bill Nace
featuring a DJ set by Kathleen Hanna

PopRally is thrilled to present a special performance by electric-guitar duo Body/Head, the current project of legendary musician, visual artist, and Sonic Youth cofounder/bassist Kim Gordon and free-noise guitarist Bill Nace. Body/Head’s sound builds on epic drones, feedback, and guitar riffs, paired with expressive vocals in a uniquely crafted take on improvisation. Staged against a backdrop of slow-motion film projections, the project comprises both a visual and musical experience, blurring the lines between mediums.
Feminist punk icon Kathleen Hanna joins us for a DJ set, and the Museum’s Contemporary Galleries will be open for an exclusive private viewing.
Special Thanks to Sud de France wines. Beer for this event has been provided by Brooklyn Brewery. You must be twenty-one or older to attend this event.

I thought Blake Mills was supposed to be the next great guitarist.

At least that's the hype I've heard.

And he's dating Fiona, I've seen him canoodling with her Malibu.

That seems pretty private. I mean, I don't know what part of the body Malibu is a euphemism for, but if he's canoodling with it it seems safe to say you're not meant to see that.

Yeah I know they're dating, because there's no fucking way in hell she's giving that talentless jerkoff that much stage time unless they're fucking.

He was a terrible, terrible guitarist.

I echo the sentiments about that Fiona show. I've seen her prob 7-8x now and that was by far the worst and mainly because of blake fuckin mills. wtf. people paid 75-100+ bucks to see Fiona do her songs not random collabs and his songs, we literally only got like 7-8 fiona apple songs. Even going in knowing it was a dual show thats redic. Last night was essentially a Largo type show but 4x the price and in a huge venue vs intimate 270 seated venue = complete ripoff. TM misrepresented the show as well. Under artists when u purchased the talent read - Fiona, Blake, LA Phil. Didn't realize the show was gonna be in this format until yesterday afternoon. Too late to slang the tixs and go to an amazing Doyer game instead. At least we hit up Fly Lo's 30th bday party after and saw GLK, Thundercat, Jrocc, Daedelus dj at that dive bar Footsies. That saved the night and why you should always be dipping.
