This will probably be very un popular but I went to Dada life last night, I heard some girls in Rolling Stone T shirts say they wanted to see the Rolling Stones because of the Dada Life song, that's a very bizarre connection but I guess.

I enjoyed Ariel Pink and I also enjoyed that other band Holy Sh*t, but who was that first band that was just basically 2 girls sitting on the floor moaning while playing various instruments, it was truly bizarre.

In case anyone missed out the first time around, Red Bull will be releasing more tickets in 10 minutes!

    http://www.ticketweb.com/t3/sale/Sal...ventId=3449614

I have a feeling this is going to be a cluster fuck on Saturday...

The four floor French Renaissance-style Grand Prospect Hall will feature three stages with live performances from pretty much the entire DFA roster, including James Murphy, Juan MacLean, The Crystal Ark, YACHT, Planningtorock and more. Prinzhorn Dance School and Dan Bodan will be playing their first ever live US sets, and we’ll have brand new music to hear from Factory Floor and Larry Gus as well.

All four floors of the venue will feature visual installations by Nuit Blanche New York.

QOTSA show will be streamed live via NPR:

"Queens of the Stone Age's first album in six years follows an unusually chaotic stretch for the band: Lineup and label changes, frontman Josh Homme's lengthy stint in the hit supergroup Them Crooked Vultures, and what Homme calls "a manic year" all inform the brooding, stormy sound of ...Like Clockwork. But QOTSA has always worn storminess well, as Homme presides over a dense, textured, unpredictable sound that's equal parts mystery, intensity, beauty and bluster.

The band's sixth album, out June 4 on Matador Records, ...Like Clockwork features guest performances by Dave Grohl (one of three drummers onboard), Elton John, Trent Reznor, Scissor Sisters' Jake Shears, Mark Lanegan and more. But look for QOTSA to streamline its lineup when it performs the album in its entirety — in sequence — live at The Wiltern in Los Angeles on Thursday, May 23. The entire sold-out show, for which QOTSA will also trot out a generous assortment of older material, is set to appear on this page as a video and audio webcast, starting at 11 p.m. ET (8 p.m. PT)."

    http://www.npr.org/event/music/18555...like-clockwork

No opener announced, stream starts at 8...this could turn into an epic show.

    !!!

In September, Wordless Music returns to BAM for the New York premiere of filmmaker Jem Cohen's "We Have an Anchor": a hybrid documentary project combining footage gathered in Nova Scotia over the past decade with live music and texts including poems, scientific studies, and local reminiscences.

"Anchor" combines film with new HD technology to hark back to early cinematic adventures such as Abel Glance’s Napoleon (1927) and that film’s radical use of the triptych. With much of the footage shot on 16mm film, the work also serves as an elegy for a disappearing medium, fully celebrating the raw, organic properties of the format. A supergroup of collaborators provide live musical accompaniment, including Guy Picciotto (Fugazi), Jim White (Dirty Three), T. Griffin (The Quavers), Efrim Manuel Menuck (Godspeed You! Black Emperor), Jessica Moss (Thee Silver Mt. Zion), and Sophie Trudeau (Godspeed You! Black Emperor), as well as special guest vocalist Mira Billotte (White Magic).

Why? it's a special one-off in anticipation of the album's release, not part of a tour. I was expecting it, really.
