No. San Manuel Amphitheater ( the venue ) is not the same as what theyre listing. And they could sell it out if they wanted to at the venue.

My coworker wants me to go to Paid Dues but I don't know much of the lineup, at all.

Oh shit. I'd like to see this one.
    I miss talking to TomAz.

We all do. I live in the same city as him (unless he relocated) and rumor has it that at 3:15am if you listen closely and its really really quiet you can hear him telling you to go fuck yourself.

There is an open field around there, theyll build a stage and sell a bunch of tickets at $50 a pop.

Edit: theres a raceway around there, could be it.

Edit 2: also, this could be a similar situation in which an artist playing a kroq show ( in this case it would be weenie roast ) and they let em have their own show, just in bfe of course.

There's San Manuel Amp, and then there's their Ballroom, or whatever you want to call it, that's actually located inside the Casino. San Manuel Amp is the Hyundai Pavilion/ Blockbuster Pavilion. There's also a park that goes along with it (which they use for the Ren Fair), which they may utilize somehow for the Paid Dues/ Rock the Bells.

Uclarocker, I'd suggest waiting for Rock the Bells, and shining on Paid Dues, though if you have some scratch to go, then go for it. Rock the Bells has a great lineup compared to Paid Dues, as usual.

Really? All the online reviews I've read of their SXSW shows said they have a mediocre stage presence. I guess I'll check em out at the troubadour then.

Going to see Jeff Mangum tonight at the Lobero theater here in SB. Excited because it will be indoors and there won't be a ton of drunk bros screaming and soundbleed.

it was a good show, they aren't gonna blow your mind but it was a nice surprise. hadn't heard them before that, and I was there for Future & Afghan Whigs, so they were good enough to make me find their music after.

Jeff Mangum was awesome tonight. Everytime I've seen him has been relatively similar, with all good crowd experiences. 3rd row center was nice, very barebones with the exception of a cellist who did a cover i didnt catch the name of? all in all, Jeff is infinite, loved every minute of it.

Hooooly shit! The Vex is awesome, too! They just reopened - I went there for a Psychobilly show recently and I really liked it.

FYI, last time they played Southern California was back in 2005, and they played LA on Super Bowl Sunday. So it's been awhile.

Yea you said it was on the 20th so I assumed this was something different. Guess they just pushed the show back a week. I wonder how ticket sales are going to work for this.
