I can't believe it's the year 2014 and people will still pay money to see a Limp Bizkit show.

The evidence against a benevolent God who loves us is mounting daily.

There are a plethora of reasons to hate Club Nokia... it's easily the worst venue in town.... but not letting people in the pit area who didn't have pit tickets is definitely not one of them.

Has any one seen one of Xiu Xiu's recent headline dates? I remember reading negative things about the support shows for Swan, but I am thinking about giving em a chance tonight at the Echo.

agreed. but the fact that they even sell separate pit tickets is a horrible enough practice to hate them when the "pit" is like half the floor there.

Haha, I remember one of the guys guarding the entrance told me to step back because I was "eyeing" the Pit area.

SOMA is pretty ass but I think in the debate of "worst San Diego venue" it's a real toss up between that and the neighboring Sports Arena. Made the mistake of going to Sports Arena once for Wrex The Halls because I wanted to see Florence & The Machine. Never again. Not even if they were paying me.

Here's what Xiu Xiu announce awhile ago.

I've seen some recent setlist and it's ten tracks from Angel Guts.Which to me personally kinda sucks because there's a bunch of other songs I want to hear but then again I became on board with Xiu Xiu a little late and super excited to see a less abrasive and full band set.

I have only seen Nine Inch Nails and Dresden Dolls at Soma, but it was a great venue for that show. A long cement box that got very hot and very loud.

Muse in 2006 was ridiculous. Tallguy can vouch for that one. Traffic coming down was horrible due to all the nerds going to comic con, though.

I didn't think life could get much better than Nick Cave performing Stagger Lee, but then they closed the set with Papa Won't Leave You Henry. Jesus Christ. That's one of the best shows I've seen all year.

I had a good experience the first time at Soma for Muse...when the bass intro to "Hysteria" caused everyone to go nuts and push forward, I ended up less than 10 people from the stage. We were pretty far away for the Black Keys in '10 though...I understood why people don't like the place much better that time.

Rimac is the worst. It's a basketball court with bad acoustics. Soma is pretty bad too.
Balboa Theater, SDSU Open Air Theater, and Belly Up are the best games in town.

My first show was at Spreckles. EMF! hahaha

Yup. The Reigning Sound also played in LA. Dunno if they were in SD, but they were spectacular, and have remained so to this day.
