Last year Peter and I did a couple of duo tours: the U.S. one took us as far west as Chicago, and the European one went all the way out to Barcelona. We don't really get a chance to do the duo thing much any more. It is a blast, and it gets us into all-ages rooms, and we get around to a bunch of songs that've been lurking in shadowy corners for ages waiting for the bright fuel of the footlights. I would like, therefore, to alert the west coast, my old stomping grounds, that we are stomping your way duo-style for the first time since 2007, and that all the shows are all-ages, and that if the all-ages duo tour from last summer is any indicator, it is going to be a huge party.
    So. Happy.

God. Damn. Cloud Nothing and METZ is such a killer double bill. Of all the shows I will be missing while I am over seas, so far this is the one that stings the most.

    More Robyn/Royksopp dates:
June 28th - San Francisco - Bill Graham Civic Auditorium
August 22 - Boston - Blue Hills Bank Pavillion

SF tickets are apparently $45. Compare that to the Bowl, which ranges up to $157... I can buy a round trip ticket and still save about $50 by going to SF... Really one of the easiest decisions I've made all week.

Bill Graham Civic Auditorium isn't anywhere near as nice as the Hollywood Bowl, though. That being said, I'm still super excited for the show.

It's way, way, way smaller though. A much more appropriate venue for that show.

True... I went to the last Kylie show there (in addition to the shows at the Bowl and the Patriot Center, cause... well.. I have issues)... But when the ticket prices for the Bowl have raised just over $50 from the last time this bill was there... with nothing to justify the cost increase... I just can't get behind that.

(And, on the upside, I can dance around like a fool better than I can in those little boxes.)

Anyone know what time headliners usually go on at the Fonda? Ticket says doors are at 9 for Trentemoller and one other billed act. When should I get there?

Doors are are 8 and show is 9 (according to GV website), so Trentemøller will probably be on around 10 or 10:30 depending on how long they give the opener (since there is only one). Actual set times will be released day of. Many of us will be at that show as well.

Dammit!!! I guess I'll listen to Avey Tare's new music today....

We have been forced to postpone this Thursday's show at the Bowery Ballroom due to visa complications.

Show rescheduled for Monday April 28th. Tickets and details here.

    * All tickets from April 3 will be honored on April 28. Refunds are available at point of purchase. *

I'm not sure why this is happening...really, truly. Twelve years of doing visas and coming down to America with hopeful fists and I have never had a problem like this one. I've been told that red tape and bureaucracy are part of the situation, but it does not do any justice to the idea of having to cancel a whole week of radio sessions, TV appearances and a live show love fest. We submitted in time and we did everything that we needed to do.

The US government has not given me my work visa yet so I have to cancel everything. There are more questions of worth entering into the fold. The US government obviously has the right to delay visas for whatever reasons they want BUT it would be such a huge help if they were consistent with their requests, so that people like myself can be a part of the country's business and culture. I would like to warn other artists, agents and labels and make this known so that they can be more prepared and hopefully avoid a situation like this. It is a very complex and unpredictable process which in turn makes it very difficult to keep a career going in the US. It sucks and it's a huge hit in terms of trying to reach the people with my record... but it's also just how it is sometimes. So, all I can do is apologize to the ones who were coming out to the show, the ones who were having us on their shows and hopefully reschedule everything. This is out of our control... but they can't control our hearts. We own our hearts. I look forward to hopefully making them all pound whenever this whole thing gets cleared up. See you soon. xo - Kevin

    Default Re: Upcoming Shows

I'm kinda happy that Kevin Drew postponed his show. Free show at Lincoln Center tonight

    Thursday, April 3, 2014 at 7:30
    Target Free Thursdays
David Rubenstein Atrium at Lincoln Center

Live project Neotantrik (Demdike Stare’s Sean Canty and Andy Votel) collaborates for the first time with American electronic music pioneer Suzanne Ciani in an evening that’s sure to be full of sonic surprises. Recently hailed a “Synthesizer Queen” by the Los Angeles Times, Ciani has played a pivotal role in the development of electronic music in the U.S., composing for Atari, pinball machines, commercials, and at Stanford University's Artificial Intelligence Lab. Polish synthesizer-and-drums duo Pietnastka opens the concert with its densely woven and unique sound-tapestries.

Presented in collaboration with Unsound, Fundacja Tone, and the Polish Cultural Institute New York.

    Schedule

    7.30: Pietnastka

    8:30: Neotantrik & Suzanne Ciani

    5/4 ZZZ's @ Silent Barn
5/6 Acid Mothers Temple @ KF
    5/7 T. Williams @ Output
    5/8 Muse @ Webster Hall
    5/8 Daniel Avery @ Output
    5/9 Sven Väth @ Space
