I'm curious for the final outcome (sorry if repost too busy at work to search)...

So I guess afterwards the festivals will return to the park?

The L.A. State Historic Park is closing for one year for construction to build an amphitheater, permanent bathrooms, and two 75-space parking lots.

Cloud Nothings played their new album from front to back last night at a small venue in Brooklyn.

No one had even heard 1 song, knows the name of the album, and didn't even know when it was coming out (they said April last night).

Badass experience. One of the loudest shows I have ever seen and they delivered an absolute blistering set. The new material was great. Dylan's vox were better and I don't know if it was a new drummer or not,
But he did a much better job keeping up with these even faster and heavier songs. Of note, they are a 3 piece now.

The crowd was completely into it and loving it. Really cool as no one knew anything about what was going to happen. Could have been a disaster and it was the opposite, really high hopes for the new record.

Connan Mockasin was excellent last night. Kinda like Ariel Pink, but he can actually play a whole set

Does anyone remember when the around/between Coachella shows at Pappy and Harriets are announced? Their schedule currently runs through the end of March.

They played probably 5 new songs at Fun Fun Fun Fest in November and it was fantastic.

To actually answer your question, the last two years it's been the middle of, or toward the end of February that the Goldenvoice April schedule got released.

EDIT: I looked on Facebook, and the schedule was posted to Goldenvoice's facebook photos on February 25 last year.

Such a good show last night. I actually ended up on stage. But I had been waiting forever to see him live and he delivered. Watching him play really made me appreciate his guitar skills. So subtle but his guitar sounds dance all over the place. I wouldn't compare him to arial pink though. Ariel pink is fucking terrible.
My first real show of the year and its going to be hard one to top.

I don't know the band Heaven, but the other four on a Sunday night at the echoplex would be a great night of music.

Yeah, I remember that part. Looked staged as all of a sudden thirty people are all onstage at practically the same time.

I don’t know if it was the giant ball of hash I ate beforehand, but the show felt very much the religious experience. Tight yet loose musicianship, adoring crowd, and a full setlist. I mean, how was the intro to ‘Its Your Body 1’ in and of itself? My God. So glad I came out for this.

And I kind of get the Ariel Pink comparisons, on a track like ‘Do I make you feel shy?’, but they both have their own styles and songwriting. How about Connan coming out alone before the show started addressing everyone with gratitude and purpose? Who does that? He’s a gentleman, Ariel is more of a rogue. Speaking of which, was that the Ariel Pink bassist standing out front before the show btw? Almost asked him, but didn’t want to be wrong and wanky. “Just cus I have long hair and asian”. Pretty sure it was him though, but what was he just standing there for? Throwing down a hex?

Saw The Darkside in Chicago last night.
They were awesome. Crowd was the worst. So rude and disrespectful to the band.
I'll never complain about an NYC crowd again.

Yes! That part was great. Was iffy on the new album but hearing it live made me a fan of it. I still cant get over that the show was only eight dollars.

Yea that was him. He was there with Melody Protchet from melody's echo chamber. I went up to her at the end of the show and said i was a huge fan. My friend also told me he ended up talking to the singer from foxygen. He didn't realize it until someone pointed it out after.

The Faint were excellent last night. They played quite a few songs that they stated were off their new, forthcoming album. More punky and fast, they were good and kept the crowd going. It was fun seeing them in a venue after all these years and I loved the set.

Danny Brown was good, but man, fuck night clubs. He had so many stupid people dancing into each other that it was hard to stand after awhile. I still dug it and he's a great performer.
