No tips, it's just a crapshoot. Security might let you pass by without checking your ticket and they might not. If you do get in on the floor, I suggest not peeing or anything because you might not get back in.

You would think, after having to shut down a Tom Petty show recently because people wouldn't leave the floor, they'd be a lot more cautious with check who is supposed to be on the floor.

Damn that's a solid description. Only Triple Dip if you include watching the Doyers hopefully force a game 7 at the bar. Otherwise it will be just categorized a Disclosure Double Dip. Triple D if you will.

So Festival Supreme was a bit of a clusterfuck tonight... Three stages... the smallest stage was a total shit show trying to just get over to it. The other two stages faced each other, which actually worked out relatively well for the first 3/4 of the day... but was severely fucked up towards the end of the night as things started overlapping... The Mr Show Experience was hard to hear because Adam fucking Sandler was drowning them out. (And then later Tim & Eric started drowning them out)

Also, they were running dry on beer at a lot of the bars by 5:30. Which is pretty inexcusable...

That said, there were some pretty awesome things... The Mighty Boosh alone pretty well made the whole thing worthwhile for me... The Mr Show Experience was great, save for the soud issues... Some random special appearances during the day too... or at least Billy Idol joining Eric Idle to sing "Always Look on The Bright Side of Life" was rather unexpected... Also Scott Ian on stage during Mr Show was pretty fucking awesome.

It'd be cool if they were to do it again... but they've got a LOT of kinks to work through. And a change of venue would probably go a long way to fixing some of that... they really didn't have a lot of space to work with.

Worst place that I've been to. My friends and I got there around 12:30am and we waited in line for over 30 minutes because they wouldn't let my friend in with a ticket that her cousin bought as a birthday present. The security said you need the person who bought the tickets to be present or you're not getting in. I heard some people in line saying they paid $100 on stubhub and were leaving to go home. The security kept yelling "We're at capacity" while letting some bros with their girlfriends walk in b/c they'll get bottle service. Anyway, we got in around 1am after making bs excuse (after all of this, they didn't even scan our tickets!) but it was a clusterfuck! The dance floor was a tad on the small side (tables scattered around the floor? Seriously?!) and filled with people that don't dance (instead taking pictures/videos!). But on the plus side, the sound system wasn't bad (not nearly as good as Output) and the fog machine that kept your temperature down if you were standing in the right spot! They played a great mix of songs but it was kinda lame to hear them play their own music haha.

ps Fonda show was probably the best that I've seen them. Loved Fonda (outdoor patio thumbs up!) and the bar next door (I forgot the name already but it had over 20 beers on top) which you could walk in/out from the venue! The floor wasn't too packed and I thought T. Williams was great even though there were probably 50 people watching his set when he started. Can't wait to see them again in Philly next week!

Agreed, it was an awesome show from beginning to end. T. Williams' set was pretty fun (wouldn't mind seeing him in the Yuma Tent next year). As far as the initial small crowd, I know it's LA and people tend to be late, but maybe the fact that there were a lot of shows going on in Hollywood that night, plus the usual Friday night Hollywood activity, factored in. That, or people are lazy and missing out. Great crowd that night, though.

I had not been to the Fonda in a few years, and the raised sections to the left and right of the stage were a great viewing area of the show, especially for my girlfriend, since she's shorter and usually there is someone blocking her view.

Also, next time, I will have to check out the Blue Palms.
