Built to Spill were great tonight, not quite as great as last night per Drewski, but great nonetheless. Doug still has one of the best voices in indie rock. Oh and they covered Don't Fear The Reaper (haha) and Age of Consent as well!

did they end it with a crazy noise jam? When they played slims last sunday they ended the show with cover of how soon is now which evolved into a 40 minute noise jam with members of the opening bands playing guitars on top of the merch tables and band members hopping around to different instruments for what must've been almost 40 minutes. kyleuga did a better write up in the Just Announced Shows in SF thread, but it was really unlike anything I've ever seen.

Just reserved my tickets for the Devo/GZA show at the Natural History Museum. Having a membership practically pays for itself when you get these $25 tickets for free.

That is awesome. They covered Cowgirl in the Sand for the crazy jam they ended with, and they covered Train in Vain by the clash a few songs earlier. My ears are still ringing from that night.

I, too, also just picked up some Devo/Gza tickets. Seeing them in 2010 was fantastic. they are a blast live.

This is actually the first event I am going to using my membership. The ticketing FAQ on the NHM website says members get priority tickets to First Fridays for $6, but this event happened to be free for members.

I don't like throwing the word "magical" very often to describe a concert, but there are few other words to properly describe Os Mutantes at the Troubadour.

I had no idea what to expect but as soon as they played the first few notes of "Technicolor" I knew I was in for a special night.

They sounded FANTASTIC, Sergio and Rita's voices have not aged a day since the 60's. One of my favorite (if not my favorite ) concerts of 2013.

I know what BoC is. What the fuck does that mean in the context of upcoming shows?

Edit: Ok, Spooks posted a link that I didn't see. It still has absolutely nothing to do with upcoming shows, but now I see it is Spooks' fault, not ods'

Not liking the Clash usually means you have a very poor taste in music and probably an asshole.

They only sell tickets at the door, they're almost always $8. The Redwood is killer, you need to go. You will definitely not regret it.

Prince was fucking amazing tonight. So much more energy than the Vegas shows, the smaller room really helpe set him off. He was partying and getting all kinds of funky. No sampler set of hits so it was all Third Eye Girl going hard the entire time. 2 encores. Tons of new tracks and a few old gems. U Got the Look a definite highlight in the second encore. Best show I've seen all year I think. Amazing.

Anyone near Athens, GA right now?

    40 Watt Club
As a gesture to Athenians who might have been disappointed by missing
out on NMH tickets, the band has committed to a third show at the 40
Watt for October 24th, and these tickets are not available online, but
can only be acquired locally at the 40 watt today, Saturday May 4th at
2pm. Sorry that this has to happen so quickly but it was the only way
... to give Athens fans the chance they deserve.

    With Circulatory System

Exciting News- We encourage you to use Cash instead of using CC today when buying tickets at the 40 Watt club today.
