Not liking the Clash usually means you have a very poor taste in music and probably an asshole.

They only sell tickets at the door, they're almost always $8. The Redwood is killer, you need to go. You will definitely not regret it.

Prince was fucking amazing tonight. So much more energy than the Vegas shows, the smaller room really helpe set him off. He was partying and getting all kinds of funky. No sampler set of hits so it was all Third Eye Girl going hard the entire time. 2 encores. Tons of new tracks and a few old gems. U Got the Look a definite highlight in the second encore. Best show I've seen all year I think. Amazing.

Anyone near Athens, GA right now?

    40 Watt Club
As a gesture to Athenians who might have been disappointed by missing
out on NMH tickets, the band has committed to a third show at the 40
Watt for October 24th, and these tickets are not available online, but
can only be acquired locally at the 40 watt today, Saturday May 4th at

... to give Athens fans the chance they deserve.

the stones were really awesome last night. played for 2+ hours with a packed set including appearances from gwen stefani on wild horses and keith urban on respectable. The Stones themselves were having the time of their lives on that stage. great seats for 85 dollars too.

Yesterday was one of the craziest nights of my life! I had the $85 tickets to see the Stones and after waiting in the will-call line for over an hour I was handed a white envelope with my tickets and they said "GA PIT"!!! They were also numbered out of a total of 50....meaning only 25 pairs of GA PIT tickets were given out to the people who purchased the $85 tickets. With well over 1,000 of those tickets solid I could not believe my luck. Not only that, the tongue pit was almost totally empty for whatever reason. I entered the arena about 10min before the Stones came on and ended up dead center in front of Mick in the second row. And man did these guys rock. I know they are super old...but they put on one hell of a show and I am convinced Mick Jagger is the greatest frontman of all time now. Amazing, amazing night with such random dumb luck that will not be forgotten anytime soon!

The best. He's been lighting it up... so much guitar craziness. He's a madman. Here's the setlists for the San Diego shows last night. I'm so pissed I missed Nothing Compares 2 U and The Max. Soooooo pissed. But it's alright. Hopefully he plays some goodies for the late show tonight to send off SD. He's loving San Diego... flirting with girls in the front row and shit. Hilarious shows

    Early Show:

    Let's Go Crazy
    Endorphinmachine
    Screwdriver
    Stratus
    Purple Rain
    Nothing Compares 2 U
    The Max
I Could Never Take The Place Of Your Man
    Guitar
    Plectrum Electrum
    Fixurlifeup
    Play That Funky Music
    Alphabet St
    Beggin Woman Blues
    She's Always In My Hair
    Liathach

    (Sampler set)
    Sign 'O'The Times
    When Doves Cry
    Nasty Girl
    Housequake

    Late Show:

    Let's Go Crazy
    Endorphinmachine
    Screwdriver
    She's Always In My Hair
    The Love We Make
    Guitar
    Plectrum Electrum
    Fixurlifeup
    I Like It There
    Purple Rain

    2 Young 2 Dare
    Cause & Effect

    U Got The Look
    Play That Funky Music

The late show had no sampler set which I thought works way better. And before you think the late show got screwed, the two shows were pretty much the same length. So we got some really extended jams. I like the sampler set because you can here Prince sing some hits, but he's just DJing them basically. It's fun, but watching him shred guitar and play with a small 4 piece band is way better. U Got the Look had me grooving so fucking hard. I love that song and they played a really great version.

I do wish the girls sang back up though. One complaint, because they kill their instruments otherwise.

Holy shit... Prince was even better tonight. Going to both late shows was the best idea ever. Completely different setlist. No Purple Rain, which I'm totally cool with, but we got an amazing version of The Max with Prince on piano into Nothing Compares 2 U, I Could Never Take the Place of Your Man, Bambi to close the main set. We also got a pretty big selection of about 6 songs in the sampler set. Crowd was going crazy the whole show. Much better turn out than last night.

Should have done it dude! This was def one of the best shows of the tour. I paid 150, so about 125 bucks off. pretty good. They were filming something (i'm guessing for 3rd Eye Girl website, or maybe Soundiego) so Prince was really bringing it. Fucking amazing show. Topped last night.

edit: also, he started on time (11, as opposed to 11:30 last night), so I was really hoping we'd get a full 2 hours. Still 90 minutes on the dot, like last night. Only 1 encore though, really long dance party with the sampler.

out of curiosity... did you go to the 21 night stand shows in LA? And if so, how are these comparing?

I didn't, unfortunately. Those setlists are amazing. This is the first tour I could make. These shows are very much NOT greatest hits shows; it's Prince jamming out with his new band. Tons of guitar solos and crazy extended versions of old and new tracks. I love it. But obviously I wish the shows were 3 hrs long like some of the shows at the forum. I imagine they are 1.5 hrs because he plays two a nights. In any case, I know he'll be back playing the hits soon enough, in a huge venue I'm sure. Until then I gotta soak up these intimate <1000 person gigs because who knows how many he'll do.
