Henry miller? Holy shit.
Seriously?? My husband and I LOVED that venue when we saw Arctic Monkeys there last year. Fantastic in every respect-- sight lines, sound, crowd, aesthetics, everything. What don't you like about it?
Also, I'm stupid-late because we just got back late last night, but as most people said the YYYs show was spectacular--so glad to see those kids in a club again! That's where their artistry really belongs. I was absolutely mesmerized (can't believe the complaints about material--we got fucking Down Boy!) and danced my ass off and...drum roll please...no fistfights! The crowd was awesome, dancing and jumping and having an actual great time rather than looking to smash someone's face in. Amazing.
And it was SO great to meet some of you finally--TallGuy, getbetter, JorgeC and NeutralMilkHotel--great afterhang @ The Hookup with the latter 3, even if I did have to watch my husband very closely to make sure one of those gaybarboys didn't carry him off somewhere. hahaha

Hey guys DE is partnering in the LA debut of SLAM. They've been at it for over 25 years and never made it out. Hope to see you on the dance floor.

I love em. I've seen most every tour except this most recent LA performance. I like the new drummer pretty well. But material-wise I'll freely admit to truly getting excited by anything from the first two records, especially Take Them On, On Your Own. They don't disappoint live, that's for sure.
And they do a lot for the fans. I saw one show at Echoplex where they literally played every old song and were onstage for a couple of hours. I wish that night was still going on.
I also saw them do a benefit show at the Roller Derby rink. It was a short set, but they still showed up and crushed it. It was weird, there was a roller derby game... and then suddenly BRMC at the opposite of the venue. Didn't phase them at all.
Can you tell I love this band?

Tycho was fantastic last night.
I missed out on the posters and I'm really fucking bummer.
I love brmc and have seen some fantastic shows from them but wouldn't go to another show unless the new album was really solid. the last album's tour was so disappointing.
Yes, this is real...

I second TG's sentiments. Amazing set to get lost in. And yah I had same convo w/ them about Coach. They say they're signed on for 2014. Not sure the set can translate outdoors though. You kinda need complete darkness to pull this off. Just like how Amon Tobins set at Coachella was really underwhelming compared to Fonda. Troub last night was the perfect setting. Also, I gotta say this band has the nicest merch around.
