On February 23rd, the KANPE foundation is organizing its first major KANAVAL fundraising event, in collaboration with the PHI Centre and POP Montreal.
Haiti’s legendary carnival will come to our city – with wild authentic masks, original costumes, and traditional Haitian delicacies all to the beat of Haitian dance troupes and music. Performances will include local Haitian band Doody and Kami, and the participation of Montreal band Arcade Fire. You’ll also be transported to Haiti with an art exhibition by famed British photographer Leah Gordon. There will be plenty of different prizes to win, including a trip for two in North America or a sun destination, courtesy of Air Canada.
Tickets for the main event are $175.
There are also 50 VIP tickets at $400 that include an exclusive pre-event “meet and greet” with members of Arcade Fire and special guests- food and drinks included.
If late night dancing is what you’re after, there will be an after party starting at 11pm. DJs include members of Arcade Fire and special guests to be announced. These tickets will be $30.
All tickets go on sale January 15th at noon at popmontreal.com. Proceeds benefit KANPE.
