Thread: Upcoming Shows

Not too surprised at this. Emily is usually more on than off but can still be an erratic performer,a la Cat Power. My friend saw a solo show of her when she was touring as Emily Haines and the soft skeleton a few years back and she had an emotional meltdown on stage, dropping her mic and storming off after 20mns. The crowd booed and demanded refunds.

It seems to be always be two of these reasons why I haven't been to the Henry Miller library for a band I like that is playing.

Depends what kind of music you listen to. I can give you some ideas! If you don't have anything planned this Saturday, come check out Black Dice/Eternal Summers/Bleeding Rainbow for free. I'll be heading over there after Sharon Van Etten @ Cameo. More info here: http://www.brooklynvegan.com/archive...n_night_1.html

You should check out Yo La Tengo's residency @ Maxwell's (you can take the bus/subway to Hoboken. Not far at all!)

This thing was up and down today on Ticketweb for some reason. Prices were initially shown as being between $18 and $25. Seems reasonable for that line up.

Anyone going to the Satellite for the Henry Clay People residency tonight? It's request night, hopefully it's interesting. I guess they might be taking a hiatus after this month.

The Wiltern show sold miserably. They couldn't even fill them to capacity with free tickets.

EDIT: it was the only time I've ever seen a promoter literally give up and say, "just show up at the door and get in for free" by the end.

All that and I didn't even get to go because I was working late that night.

EDIT 2: this is in reference to the Bitte Orca show, not the more recent one.

The more recent Wiltern show was well attended come the night of. Floor was sold out a guard told me. Such an amazing show that night.

Also, the Troubadour show might have sold out if people actually knew it was fucking happening. If it wasn't for this forum and The Scenestar I'd have no idea about it. Its not on their facebook, the Troubadour's facebook/twitter, or the band's website. Not a mention anywhere!

    The Echo Los Angeles, California
Scary Jungle presents ZAIREEKA LISTENING PARTY With live sets from HOTT MT and BUTCHER BOY This special event is a rare opportunity to hear The Flaming Lips' experimental 1997 masterpiece in it's entirety. All four CDs will be played simultaneously at the Echo in spectacular octophonic sound. Open your mind, sit back, and immerse yourself in thirty-five thousand feet of despair. The evening will include live performances and other entertainments from HOTT MT (whose single Never Hate Again featured a collaboration with Wayne Coyne) and Butcher Boy, who are bringing their atmospheric post-rock/folk sound all the way from Portland, Maine.
