I thought they couldn't top "Bug" show but last night proved why Dinosaur Jr is pretty much one of the best I was so happy to see Kevin Drew as well! What a nice little surprise. I remember when Dino had Broken Social Scene open for them back couple years ago....missing BSS

    WORST CROWD EVER.
Superfan will be in front of the Fonda masturbating furiously to a photo of him taking a photo of a band. Set is from 8:05 to approximately 8:05:15. Guest list only.

Upcoming Shows: Stanton Warriors (3/20), George Clinton + P Funk (3/21) Coachella 2015 (WK1), Underworld (Hollywood Bowl), Basement Jaxx (Hollywood Bowl), David Gilmour (Wherever I need to go)

Isn't that expected, we live in Los Angeles. We sell the 2nd most tickets in the country (after NY) and have probably the consistently worst crowds.

I was a bit annoyed because I had received bad information on set times for the night. Was told they were going to go on at 10. Got there and saw they were scheduled for 1045 and then they didn't go on til about 1130.

The timing wouldn't have been that bad if it didn't mean I had to endure the annoyance that was the Fixed guys for an hour and a half. Christ they're awful. Pretty sure they're completely tone deaf too.

That said, SMD were fantastic. Could have stood to play for a bit longer, but other than that, fantastic.

Hot Snakes were incredible! Tight show with almost perfect sound in a small club. I don't have a lot of reference for these guys as far as past live performances and how good they usually are but, from what I've seen of them at FYF and tonight at Alex's Bar, they are consistent, driving and unforgiving in their approach. Fuzzy guitars, melodic bass lines, pounding drums and howling vocals with almost no pauses between songs. No onstage "banter" from Rick Froberg... or very little anyway. They're amazingly good players all around and look like they love what they're doing. Me too! Opening acts, Night Marchers and White Murder were good. But neither were near the level of Hot Snakes, even though Night Marchers is 2/3rds of the same band.

Great night and good seeing you TallGuy- awesome times!

Yeah, I was going to say. But you really shouldn't expect Feel the Pain at a show dedicated to You're Living All Over Me. They're gonna draw from that general era of the band.
