Oh damn- you're right! I hadn't even made that connection. Hm, this could be a problem for me as well. But if it turns into one of those long nights of counting/re-counting, the APTBS show could be the perfect antidote.

Glad to hear the rave reviews for Neil Young & Crazy Horse last night. The setlist is very similar to what they did at Outside Lands. Definitely one of the best shows of the year.

The setlist was VERY similar, but this performance was better for me (even if we didn't get anything from Tonight's the Night.) Increased familiarity with the new material certainly helped, as did the fact that I had a seat and the temperature was more comfortable, but I'll be damned if moments weren't just more transcendent. Still, they kill it so hard.

Tell us more. What were the issues? I know when we saw him at OSL, my dad liked him but was frustrated that everything stretched out for so long and that he did so many new songs as compared to old ones.

Yes, beer/wine has been served in the lobby-like area before each show I've been to there; it's also where the merch is. Cash only. Who are you seeing there?

I love Neil and I too was frustrated by the super extended new songs. I like the new songs fine but when it's a 13 song set, I don't want to see 5 new songs. I think my frustration boiled with how long "Walk like a Giant" went on. And I just don't like that song, "Born in Ontario".

I am also being extra cranky because the traffic was so bad and i came from Brentwood which took forever and when I got there all the parking was full and I had to park at the Ford theater.

It was funny the person next to me said (this is a complete stranger mind you, not someone with me). I didn't know he was from Ontario off the 10 freeway.

Went there the year they had DJ Shadow, Little Dragon, and Edward Sharpe. They been stingy on the talent lately but I still say it will be a great crowd and if it's still at the Park Plaza it's perfect for that type of event. One of my fave venues in the entire city.

    Andrew,

FYI, the beer and wine they sell at Hollywood Forever is just out of a tub behind a table, it's not a real bar (obvs since it's just the waiting room of a lodge). Reason i mention is that when I was there for Divine Fits, it was only 1 girl behind the table and she was pretty overwhelmed. Be prepared for a wait.

Did I mention she is a dime? Poppy but amazing. The show was half electric half acoustic, had the entire place rocking.

Damn you for this! Am listening to the album now and LOVE it. Sadly, she isn't opening the Gary Clark Jr show I have tickets for. Dammit.

Should I go see Dinosaur Jr tonight ($25) at a venue I don't really like, Witch Mountain & Castle ($7) tomorrow in a good venue in a town I don't really like, or drive an hour to see Jandek ($25) on Saturday at some shitty college campus? I don't have the time this week/weekend to do all 3 or even 2 of them.

Dinosaur Jr. will make the shitty venue sound good and are absolutely massive live. Jandek is a rare and intense show, but each one is completely different and it somewhat matters who the other players are. I'd definitely go with one of those two, and I'd only go with Jandek if you're fan enough to find the drive and price worth it. Intense, good show, but if you just want the better performance it'd be Dino.

I personally would do Jandek on the count it's so rare.Plus I'm always curious to see who his guest are.

The Corwood rep will be joined by Charles Gillett (electric guitar), Craig B. Mataresse (electric bass), Adam Patterson (drums, percussion), and Brian DeGayner (brass)

I am very proud. It's not a bad method and also I would recommend double bagging it so you don't lose potent boozes.

No doubt it's a tough choice. I've never been disappointed with a Dinosaur Jr. show though, and I always leave wanting to see them again right away.
