Yea I really struggled with this one. TM released some plumb seats yesterday for it, just like I figured they would. But my concert budget money is already mostly dried up for October and I couldn't swing another $100+ for him. Really bummed out. Was set list the same as Hollywood Bowl?

He's supposed to be releasing another Christmas album, right? With the giant Christmas release he already has, that's a ton of material.

Interesting what will call/paperless for GA Floor results in for arena shows. The floor at Black Keys at Staples was empty. Could leave and come back and be 10 feet from the stage. Muse was easy too

Ever hear of something called the fire code? They may not be allowed to sell out the entire floor due to whatever the fire marshal designates

I'm not sure how it being will call/paperless has anything to do with how many people are on the floor at a show. I feel like you think it has something to do with deterring scalping, but considering the show was sold out, don't you think the floor tickets would have all been sold too? I don't know what logic is being used here. I was surprised at the crowd on the floor during Black keys too, but I assumed it was a capacity cap.

It totally is to defer scalping - no question there. But I think it is resulting in people eating tickets because they dont pick them up and eat them. I saw the stack at Staples of unclaimed envelopes when I showed up 20 min before they went on - there were a ton. This is why the state of NY outlawed paperless - gives you no option to sell for face or refund in the event you cant go. I dont know how often that happens to you all but it does with me frequently and I have no option but to eat.

The state of new york was able to outlaw paperless because the brokers strong armed the powers that be on it to keep the status quo, and so they wouldnt be out of business. Also, if they had certain tickets be will call only, and people cant make it, then what?

I thought so, too. I was rendered speechless.

It makes me feel like being 62 is really cool.

David Byrne/St Vincent was fabulous. They're terrific together... what a fun fun show! Full horn section was absolutely great. Plus, they had a theremin(!).

This and Peter Gabriel on Monday has made for a really good week.

Didn't go to Hollywood Bowl but I would assume so based on the review I read.

Grizzly Bear were ridiculous tonight. First time at the Greek and it sounded fantastic from section A. They're just such a tight band and their songs come across so well live. Oh and Chris Bear is a beast behind that kit.

The harmonies Grizzly Bear do are bar none amazing. Great band at the top of the game. Shields songs rocked. Idk if the Greek lighting guys were good tonight, or that was GB's doing, but it was awesome.

Really impressed with Grizzly Bear. Sat in the inner section of South Terrace and thought the sound was excellent. I have always been pretty happy with sound at the Greek I know the place gets a bad rap sometimes but I don't think its fair to just let its reputation be a wash. The crowd around me was respectable and more focused than not, very little noise and talking wise except one guy who thought he was hilarious and had a couple one liners that he thought everyone should hear. Thanks again to Iced Keg for the last minute ticket hook up, much appreciated my friend.

Grizzly Bear were phenomenal. I went last minute and was just blown away. The sound even up in Section C was great. And yeah, the harmonies were gorgeous. It was just a perfect night.
