I had a bunch of shows I would have wanted to see in early December but I will be in Europe.
For your health
The Shins were fun tonight. Played all the songs I wanted to hear. Sleeping Lessons is the best song the group has written/recorded/played live tonight. Really responsive and adoring crowd. Sound was good up in the first row center of the balcony.

You very seldom see anyone wearing plugs at European shows. I know lots of people with 1000+ shows under their belt and no hearing issues. I'm not saying it doesn't happen. I'm just saying you all have pussy ears.
Has anyone mentioned that the Eagle Rock Music Festival is this weekend? Should be a good time, Thundercat dropped out so now The Pharcyde are headlining instead. Hopefully I'll be able to hit this up and Trash Talk in the same day.
For anyone in NY this weekend...
John Lennon's drawings!
Where/WhenIn honor of what would have been his 72nd birthday, Yoko Ono is sharing a series of John Lennon's drawings with the public from Friday, October 5 until October 9. The curators say that this year's exhibit considers fans more than ever before. It includes some written pieces, but the emphasis is on limited-edition prints of drawings and sketches. Three of the pieces have never been available to the public, and will be making their debut at this showing. "We discover things constantly," Ono says.
The exhibit, called "The Art of John Lennon," will be available for viewing at 130 Prince St, between Wooster and West Broadway in SoHo, from noon to 8 p.m. on Friday October 5, from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Saturday October 6, and then from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. each day until the closing on Lennon's birthday, October 9. The exhibit is free, but there is a $2 suggested donation at the door. Proceeds will go to CityMeals on Wheels, a non-profit that cares for the elderly. The artwork is all for sale, and prices range from $200 to $22,000.

House of Blues Anaheim
December 13, 2012
ps Is Joe (Modest Mouse) their drummer still?
Yeah Plummer is the drummer. And Wincing the Night Away is awesome, shhh! I do have some issue with the whole band member thing though... Anyways.
Yes they are still around and the shows are awesome costumes, evil space monsters, and all. The christmas time shows are especially great with all the extra stuff they bring out and the santa costumes. I had always heard they were banned from playing the Disney House of Blues though since they made fun of Mickey Mouse and disney execs one time.
