Yeah, me too. Those bastards personally promised me a West Coast leg of their 2005 tour, but they scrapped it to finish up Zidane. But I will gladly take any Mogwai, and a Coachella performance would be sweet. I really hope we get a small LA show, too.

I think Mogwai should play Coachella on the Outdoor Stage every year, preferably when the majority of the festival-goers are watching a larger band so I can be somewhat close.

And it makes me happy that they came to SF after Coachella. My friend Jon and I went and it was awesome. They opened with Christmas Steps. They played a bunch of awesome tunes. They played Hunted By A Freak directly into Mogwai Fear Satan directly into Glasgow Mega-Snake. We're No Here had like 10 minutes of noise.

The El Rey would be a good place, yes. I would love to see them at the Troubadour, but that window of opportunity has obviously passed.

Also, "Mogwai Fear Satan" is probably my favorite song in the world to hear live.

that was NOT cool. and I'm sure it was more than 10 minutes. I think they were just testing people to see how long they'd listen.

they played two nights at the knitting factory in fall of 2003. I went the second night, and to date it's one of the best concerts I've ever seen.

Also, "Mogwai Fear Satan" is probably my favorite song in the world to hear live.

I saw Mogwai in Germany at the Hurricane Festival, they were good. Id check them out if they did Coachella...Same time slot as Explosions in the sky, this year.

I'd prefer an actual LA gig with a loooooong set since they, like so many other Coachella acts (Jarvis Cocker, I'm calling you out) fail at geography and think playing a festival 130 miles from LA means you never have to actually play the city later in the year. And they conflicted with someone massive each time (Madonna, Flaming Lips). But if it they play, I'll be grateful that gv brought them to this country yet again, and I'll be there. Unless they play against Portishead, which wouldn't surprise me.

Well, Coachella AND an LA gig or two later in the year would be ideal. I'd vote for The Avalon over El Rey since their shows seem to sell out a lot slower, from what I can tell.

Ah, yes. I always thought of Sasquatch as more of a summer thing, even though summer is technically weeks away. Starts getting hot as balls, summer blockbuster movies every week, etc.

I'm From Barcelona, Jason Isbell, and Sons and Daughters have "festivals" listed under "situations desired" (but Sons and Daughters specify summer festivals). But look at the other possibilities: Cat Power, British Sea Power, The Faint, etc. Anyway, being available obviously doesn't guarantee a band will play, but I thought it was interesting.

I've been checking out the Windish Agency and they represent a lot of awesome bands. Justice will be doing headlining gigs March 2008, it says. And I saw that Battles, Dan Deacon, and Busdriver will play Langerado in March. I forgot about that festival.

this evening I listened to Come On Die Young for the first time in years. it was the first mogwai cd I ever got. I didn't get into them until much later, and never came back to this one until now.

damn I had forgotten how I love mogwai. I miss mogwai.

maybe I should starve myself of a few other cds and come back to them in four years time.

I hate to be one of those people that says check out everything, but you definitely should. They have not released a bad album or ep.

If you had to listen to only one album, check out Young Team. The definitive Mogwai song can be found on that one (listen to it once, and see if you can guess which song I am talking about).
