Last night's screening of The Electro Wars brought back a whole lot of memories from the salad days of 2007-2008, when it seemed the fierce and fuzzy club music known as electro was taking over the world. Learned :: Young People Call 4/4 Electro Beats “Hip-Hop”
At least according to legendary turntablist Q-Bert who tells the story of asking his 19-year-old niece about some music he hears on the radio, only for her to reply with this surprising miscatergorization. Electro Wars addressed such genre-name confusion, including the recycling of the word “electro” itself.
