A couple days ago, I was driving back to my university, listening to Arcade Fire. All was well for most of the trip; I was singing along and everything was well with the world. That is, until I got to Neon Bible's "No Cars Go." It was towards the end where it was building towards the apex, and something just came over me and I started bawling... bawling on the interstate going 75mph!! I had to stop on the side of the road for about 10 minutes until I could get a hold of myself. It was crazy! I don't think I've every cried like that when listening to music, but something in that song just hit me like a ton of bricks!
Needless to say, I skipped over 'My Body Is A Cage', since it already makes me leak at the eyelids a bit. *sniffle*
Any similar occurrences with you all?

Radiohead - No Surprises
i was about to have what i knew was going to be one of the worst weekends of my life, and shuffle on my itunes went to that song, and for some reason i just teared up, dunno why.
I cried the first time I heard Be Your Own Pets - Adventure
Brits do. that's who. The guy may be going to school. err university.. in the states ("interstate highway") but clearly he's a maggot-munching english poofter. Which explains his crying, he's in constant pain from his poor dental hygiene anyway.
I confess that this thread has me worried a bit. Is it possible, nee, probable, that this current generation in fact does NOT know what's funny? Please, someone. Make it funny. Fix it. I want to live again. Let me live again.
There I was. Like a child on Christmas morning. Staring at a whole thread sitting there waiting for me. All about things that are funny! I LOVE things that are funny! So I poised myself and with one swift click, tore off the wrapping paper, the ribbon bow, and the card in one fell swoop. And what I saw lying there wasn't in fact the thread equivalent of the pink My Little Pony play set or the EZ-Bake Oven, it was nothing but a sweater. Another stupid sweater. And an Arcade Fire sweater, what's more. And that was the day that I knew that there would be no more play sets, no more tiny ovens. It's only sweaters from here on out.
It's indie rock, not indie experimentation. 95% of everything you listen to is pop music.
And 5% ash.
You mean dead human skin.
No Cars Go? Really? Really? I saw the ending of their set at Coachella, and I thought they were going to end with Rebellion. It was a song, and a great performance. Then after, they played No Cars Go. It seemed somewhat anti-climactic to me. One of my friends with me HATED the Arcade Fire, but after he saw them play Rebellion, he said he was quite impressed. But No Cars Go made him go "meh."
I dont think I have ever cried listened to a song. The closest thing I can think of that recently happened, was listen to the Battles song Rainbow. The ending of that song is so breathtakingly beautiful, its hard to explain. Literaly, I have to focus on my breathing while listening to that song.
Me and ThomThom are in for a fun night at The Bowl with all of them in the Pool section. Guess I better bring clothes I can get dirty.
