8 oz pours for $10 at a festival didn't seem like a horrible price for me

YES... They had Oude De Tart and Saison De Lente, which were both fucking delicious on tap.

Yeah, a 25oz bottle will retail between $19.99-$24.99 + tax in a liquor store.

Yep which is why I refuse to get and Bruery beers unless I'm actually at their tasting room. Sour on The Rye is delicious and I've made the 30 min drive to the tasting room for it alone, but I can't justify spending that much on a single bottle that isn't a rare find.

I went to a party and since I was driver I just brought an Arrogant Bastard. I couldn't find a clean cup to use so I just drank it from the bottle and it tasted totally different and not for the better.

Yesterday had a very fresh bottle of Pliny The Elder (4/9/14) and I'll be damned if the Stone Enjoy By 5/16/14 I had the same night wasn't as good or better. That is a fucking great beer. Also, the Sierra Nevada Nooner sessionable IPA is another the best tasting IPAs I have ever had, abv be damned. The flavor on that is amazing. I've been drinking Pizza Port Ponto back to back with it as well and there is no comparison.

I had my first ever Ninkasi Brew tonight. Was their Imperiale High Gravity Stout. I really liked it actually but I noticed they do a fair amount of IPA's. Anyone have them and how do they compare to others?

You talking about the link I posted? Because that's definitely in Reno. And you and Cara should come.

I've been having their Total Damnation IPA quite a bit lately. It's good, not great. Dawn of the Red, the imperial red ale is really good.

I think you quoted the wrong post. I'm not a huge fan of any Ninkasi IPAs: everyone I've tried has been good, not great, just like Drinkey said. And I wasn't overly impressed visiting the brewery.

I got to try a bunch of Ninkasi beers one night and wasn't impressed with any of them.

The Alpine saturation in California is going to continue. Green Flash is contract brewing big batches for them. First batch, last month, was Nelson. Now they've got Duet in the tanks. Next month it will be Hoppy Birthday. Then they'll repeat the cycle. I haven't tried the Green Flash-brewed Nelson but everyone says it's spot on. Here's hoping they do just as well with Duet and Hoppy Birthday.

Just got tickets to the Sierra Nevada Beer Camp Festival at the Chico location for Saturday, July 19th. I've never been to Chico! There's a lot of small CA breweries (and WA/OR ones) that I've never heard of that will be there, but also Three Floyds, New Glarus, Bells, and Cigar City. Sunday, July 20th is the San Diego date, for those of you down there that might be interested. http://beercamp.sierranevada.com/fes...thwest_edition

Wow, the SD fest is $65. I think that's the highest price I've seen for a fest that doesn't include food or a rare to-go bottle. The list of breweries at the SD fest is good, but mostly the same ones at every other fest here. The Chico one would be more special.

Meanwhile, I'm heading to Alpine in about an hour if any boardies wanna meet haha...

We've got a pretty good local brewery about twenty minutes north of Atlanta. Today was their second birthday, and they were doing "tours" (to work around bullshit GA laws that prohibit breweries from offering tastings). The place is run by two aging punk rockers, which is pretty obvious from a look at today's menu.

I had never seen that 4-way IPA box before, had to pick one up. I like the Blindfold Black IPA, the Snow Wit is ok, the Nooner is forgetable, and you can never really go wrong with a Torpedo.

It was a double IPA called Omni Hop - it was super good!

And TheRotten, I wonder if you box wasn't fresh enough? The Nooners I had were among the best tasting IPAs I have ever tasted, I thought they were amazing.

We had a beer tasting party on Saturday and everybody brought some great stuff. Going through my Untappd, here is what i had:

    Cnatillon Gueze 100% Lambic Bio
    The Bruey Saison De Lente
The Commons Brotherly Love Belgian strong dark ale
    Hitachino Next White Ale
New Beligium Lips Of Faith Pluot fruit beer
    The Dudes Double Trunk DIPA
    Dogfish Head Aprihop IPA
    Wiens Type 3 IPA
Beachwood Full Malted Jacket scotch ale
    Ommegang Three Philosophers Belgian quad
    Cismontane Marea Roa Flanders red
    Pliny The Elder
    Cascade Blueberry sour
    Figueroa Mountain Hoppy Poppy IPA
Green Flash le Freak Belgian IPA
    Six Rivers Chili Pepper Ale
    Ninkasi Dawn Of The Red
    Bootlegger's Golden Chaos Belgian Blonde

It was great! You really can't go wrong with any of the Cascade sours though. I've had 4 of them now I think. They are even more expensive than Bruery bottles though.

Went to the Beachwood release of Citraholic yesterday and it was one of the better releases I've been to. The special menu that blends with the beer and the cask tasting of it were fantastic as were the bottle sales/growler fills and the beer itself is one of the better Citra's I've had, it drinks like a session but carries a huge burst of citrusy flavors (the aroma is even better). Beachwood is fucking killing it this year.

I also LOVED their Alpha Galactic West Coast Pale Ale and kind of regret not getting a growler of it, may have to go back this weekend if they still have some.
