There's that good grassy, yeasty flavor that defines the style, but the citrusy hop cuts through it. It's very light and refreshing despite all the flavor, and you'd never guess it was 8.5%. Really good beer.
Love Child no.3 and chocolate ale are decent.

This is fantastic news. Shitty beer is one of the two things I've been whining about for years. My dream is finally coming true. This is where I will be a lot of Sunday.

Where did you guys find that info? All I found on the website under Featured for 2014 was:

The newly expanded Terrace will cater to festival goers who share a passion for healthy, local and sustainable ingredients. Look for top chefs and restaurants from across Los Angeles and the Coachella Valley serving hand-crafted dishes along side the region’s top artisanal vendors offering a delectable array of hand-made edible treats, with a curated selection of craft beers on tap and a Stumptown coffee bar. Stay tuned for more details.

First time trying a sour tonight (Flemish) and wow, I had no idea beer could taste like this. Pretty damn good, but pretty odd and different to say the least.

Had the new Go To IPA from Stone Friday night. I'm always looking for low-abv beers that have a lot of flavor, and this one is a winner. It's 4.8% and has loads of hop aroma and flavor. Nice Citra hops, too. It can be hard to make a "session IPA" that doesn't have a thin mouthfeel, but this one delivers.

Pizza Port's "Session" Ponto SIPA slays that Go To bullshit. Give it a shot when you get the chance.

I've had Ponto on draft and in cans many times. It's a great session beer.

At the bacon and beer festival yesterday the standout beer for me was Altamont Beer Work's Maui Waui - an IPA with a very heavy pineapple taste.

Had a pretty good fucking weekend...

    Logsdon Peche N' Brett
    Prairie Bomb! Stout
    Beachwood Amalgamator
    Beachwood Hop Fu!
    Pizza Port Swami
Noble Amarillo Showers (paired it with Nelson)
And a Kern Citra to cap off True Detective.

Still got a Prairie Spectrum (Ales for Autism), Beachwood Buffalo 8 Stout, some Almanac Sours, and some left overs from up top to try before Real Estate on Tuesday.

These were three completely incredible beers. I don't have much of a palette for sours, but the Peche n' Brett was just delicious and may be what unlocks that door for me. I can't really think of a better stout than the Prairie Bomb either. And after how good Melrose was, Amalgamator makes it two in a row for Beachwood and I can't wait to see what they put out next.

Beer and bourbon have become the record store of past. I'm sitting at the bar currently listening to these two assholes try and one up each other on beer, breweries, bourbon, and knowledge of the ilk. It kills me. I go into the lq store and beer niggah either scoffs or high fives me with my questions and choices of beer.

Fuck you. Does it taste awesome? Does it get you drunk? Perfect.

Hell yes, one of my favorite brewery's made LA Weekly's top 5 Cali Beers list. They actually took the #1 spot. Enegren Brewery in Moorpark (just over the hill from my house) relased Batch 100 last week and it is a damn fine beer. The Enegren brothers are some of the coolest brewers Ive met, they have no problem helping fledgling homebrewers get started on the right foot with answeres to pretty much what ever brewing question you can think of.

Anybody ever hit up Progress (formerly Federal) brewing in El Monte? I like their red ale and stout. Forget the names but the growlers and fills are very reasonable.

Just had the latest batch of Stone's Enjoy By. That is the best batch of it I have had of it. Citrus overload to it. If you are a fan of citrus flavors I highly recommend it.

I picked up a few bottles of Kern River's Outstanding IPA from my local liquor store (never drank this beer before) and a bottle of the latest Stone's Enjoy By (I've had 5 since they were released last Thursday) Can't wait to drink them tonight!

Has anyone tried Kern River's Outstanding IPA?
