Title: MYSTERY MAN EMERGES OUT OF DARKNESS WALKING TOWARD WOMAN UNDRESSING IN 60 DEGREES

Imagine getting home, going to walk to your door in a quaint neighborhood mind you with $600k 1 bedroom apartments and a man emerges out of the darkness. You keep walking: you were taught to be aware but also optimistic - hopefully it's just a neighbor.

Now he is walking toward you with conviction. He is unbuttoning his shirt, one button at a time. Luckily he doesn't pick up pace. It doesn't feel right. You run back to your car in time to turn on the car and start backing out, fast.

The walls to the neighborhood aren't the widest so you try to avoid backing into something or someone who might by chance be walking by the blind spot outside the community entrance. You can't drive fast enough to get away from this character. Finally, you're free. Kind of.

Oh, you are a ~135 pound woman but thankfully - as a result of living in this zoo - you took up martial arts and have gotten pretty good.

So this all happened to me tonight.

I'm sick of this city and I'm sick of this hellhole of a zoo neighborhood Liquid Sugar Drive!!!.....

They say they don't want to put a fence, to build a "fortress around the beautiful neighborhood". This place is a crime hole and the new mini barriers, trees and hills leading up to our doors that the clowns in the HOA and beyond just spent $100k on is a criminals dream.

Anyway, at this point I'm driving circles around the block looking for security, which the community had gotten some weeks ago because of all the shenanigans mind you at least 5 months too late. I see the man walking, shirt now completely off, and touching trees etc, like he was on drugs. Thankfully, right?! See first picture, he has made it to railroad tracks.

Meanwhile I've texted neighbor, but too late for them to answer. I called a trusted friend 5 times, nothing. I am back in the area and a neighbor is in the car pulling out of garage next to mine... oh no they're leaving too quickly to ask them to escort me, besides I've never seen them before. Lo and behold, sketchy character #2. Except this one feels the cold, hes clothed and he's pacing but with his head down, something felt off.

I proceeded to drive around Emeryville thinking a city that is something like one mile long I'll find a police officer and meanwhile hope my friend will see my calls. I can't find a single police officer.

Alas friend has called, and I cry and ask him to come over even though he has to wake up at 4:30am for work. I go to Trader Joe's shopping center for kicks- watch the police be there.

Lo and behold, three marked SUVs are at Burger King, they seem to be enjoying the brisk night. I don't know if they are Emeryville because I was too disgusted and mildly groggy friend was already on the way.

Driving down the home stretch I see sketchy character #3! Same demeanor as #2 and also fully clothed unlike #1 (is it #2?!) Thankfully my 220-pound also martial art fighting friend is there. I call non-emergency police number because this is just ridiculous at this point. Give them coordinates which is one block and description and direction sketchy characters are going. They insist on knowing my address and that no cops are at Burger King right now. I'm over it. I tell them not necessary and that's all I have, friend is trying to sleep.

I'm in bed. Snoring never sounded so beautiful.

Almost every week, a variation of this is posted on my Nextdoor feed, usually with a title like "SUSPICIOUS ACTIVITY!" and the word "Latino" or "Mexican" in the post somewhere, followed by other people (who probably live in houses their parents paid for years ago) commenting that the neighborhood "isn't what it used to be."

Nextdoor is full of snitches. When we first moved into my new house, it scared the shit out of my girlfriend because these people acted like we were overrun with criminal activity. It is definitely useful though, you just have to scroll past the paranoid white people.

Title: weird guy showing up at my house

I was just outside mowing my yard when a 20-25 year old white male tall male with blonde hair came into my yard and addressed himself as a foreigner, he spoke English but has a French accent. He asked if my mom is home and then asked when she would be home. He asked if I was the daughter of the family and I said yes. He said he would come back another time when my parents were home but he didn't say what he needed. He is riding around Gilliat street on a bicycle and has a clipboard. I called the police and told them what happened and they sent a squad car. They said to tell my neighbors to call the police if they see this man again.

    Person 1
    Hair: Blonde
    Top: Blue shirt
    Bottom: Khaki shorts
    Age: 20-25
    Sex: Male
    Race: White

I have reported this information to the police.

    Today
So, this morning, there is a blue van (not from the neighbors) parked across the street with a window half way down on the passenger side. I walked over to take pictures of the van and license plate, and when I was near the half open front window, I could see a human hand stretched out which was attached to a sleeping body in the back. There was an opened package of some sort of food on the front seat. What do I do? Report it to the police? Let the guy wake up naturally and drive off into the sunrise? Post pictures here? In fairness, it is not a broken down piece of junk and my vehicles are parked, locked and untouched. What say you?

Man, y'all have very different Nextdoor neighbors. This was a big one recently:

I would like to use a bit of space here to express my appreciation to which ever of my neighbors has decided that my chickens and chicken coop, after years of keeping them here, are an unacceptable feature of the neighborhood. I don't know who you are, I do know you are not any of my immediate neighbors that actually share a property line with us since all those neighbors, the ones that are directly affected by my birds, all love the chickens and are very happy to have them there. They have all expressed to us how nice it is to have the feeling of living in the country, how lovely it is here in this very unique area that is both very rural and modern at the same time, a place where neighbors get along and discuss issues and concerns when they arise. But I guess my birds have spoiled that for someone after all the years I have been keeping them here and for that I am truly sorry. If you had followed the Mono County guidelines for filing a complaint with code enforcement we could have discussed your concerns and probably have worked it out but instead you opted to fire a letter directly to the county, bypassing me altogether and forcing the county to deal with it. I hope you will feel better knowing that you have succeeded in making me give up 3/4 of my little pets that are not and never have harmed anyone or anything and are actually a great benefit to our immediate neighbors as well as my extensive gardens. We have been working very hard to make our little patch of Paradise something the community can be proud of and because we are doing it ourselves it is taking some time but I want to assure all our neighbors that we are working on it as fast as we can. And to the person/persons who complained about my birds to the county a special thank you for dropping that bomb on my life, I and my birds appreciate it. You can take satisfaction in knowing it is going to be heartbreaking for me to try to pick which 4 birds you have allowed me to keep and which ones I have to get rid of, so thank you for that. Separating my wonderful flock is going to be just as awful as it would be if you were forced to get rid of 3 of 4 beloved dogs. These are my pets, they are not livestock! So thanks a lot for coming to me and leaving the bureaucrats out of it. That there is even a rule about the amount of pets we are allowed to keep has been somewhat of a shock to me in general. The rule applies to all pets, not just chickens so all you pet lovers keep that in mind for the future.

    TITLE: white suburu suspected?

We have had an older white Subaru Outback parking in front of our house for several weeks now on/off throughout the day (for several hours at a time) with the driver staying in the car. Several of my neighbors have become concerned and yesterday I brushed it off to another neighbor that perhaps he is a local worker on break and enjoying the shade under the tree. Or worse, someone without a place to live. I never want to assume the bad in anyone. However, earlier today someone broke into the back of our house and stole one bike and rummaged through the entire back room - dresser drawers, etc.

Therefore I'm posting the license plate and would like to know if anyone knows the driver, or could make contact with him, or be on the lookout for him. I'm not sure if he is related to the crime, but it certainly is suspicious. I have seen other neighborhood postings about a white SUV being spotted before car break-ins occurred.

Here are the details to be on the lookout for the white Subaru Outback - CA license plate 6YVL402 (or possibly 4Q2 or 4O2). I'm sorry in advance if this upsets anyone, I would only like to question the driver about the crime and/or if he saw anyone else lurking around our home. It's not a good feeling. Thank you for reading.

Description of vehicle involved – Color: White, Make: Subaru, Model: Outback, Type: SUV, License Plate: 6YVL402, Other details: or possibly 4Q2 or 4O2 for ending of license plate - male driver - white t-shirt

Please do not leave me in the dark. Season 7 is here and I have no idea what this GAME OF THRONES hype is all about. Anyone with early seasons I can use to catch up? There are so many references even in news commentary that I feel I must catch up. I want to start at the beginning.

Yeah, you have to verify that you actually live in the neighborhood you can post to. It's great for getting rid of and/or getting free stuff, learning about community events, and a centralized location for your neighborhood racists and conspiracy theorists to post things.

Apparently I "park like a jerk"
So I got this little love note under my windshield wiper today -- on my birthday no less -- and I just had to share. Maybe you know who wrote this or you've gotten a similar note in the past? This is just so ridiculous I don't even know what to make of it. I am attaching a copy of the note and a photo of the "jerky" way I parked. What does one do with something like this except laugh, really?

The photo of my parking shows that there's no problem with a car parking behind me, plus I had left some room in front of my car so that I had room to put my trash cans.

I don't know, I have never wanted to know anything more, and I hope that there is a post from my neighbor that elucidates this for all of us.

Like, it's either that they have lurked/posted on this board as well or somehow a specific set of google search terms about that website app + that neighborhood leads us here
