If the angles are different, that makes the shapes different as well. They look the same, but they aren't. Which makes it a cheat.

you don't understand. the angle of the blue triangle is different than the angle of the red triangle. the blue triangle in the first pic is the exact same as the blue triangle in the second pic. likewise, the red triangle in the first pic is the exact same as the red triangle in the second pic.

therefore, the whole figure (all 4 pieces put together) forms a rectangle, not a triangle.

it is not a cheat.

No. You don't understand. The picture is claiming that all the pieces are the same shape. By altering the top side, the shapes of all the individual pieces are altered as well. Making it....survey says

crazzz, i dont think you understand how geometry works. calculate the area of the total triangle (base x height / 2) and then compare that the the combined areas of each individual piece--it does not add up.

both the triangles are right triangles. the only way they can have different angles than theyre supposed to is by cheating a bend in the hypotenuse.

yes, meaning the blue triangle in pic 1 is the same as the blue triangle in pic 2.

the red in pic 1 is the same as the red in pic 2.

the yellow in pic 1 is the same as the yellow in pic 2.

the green in pic 1 is the same as the green in pic 2.

but this does not mean that the blue and the red triangles have the same angle.

The "hypotenuse" (not even really a hypotenuse because it is curved) is curved DIFFERENTLY in both pictures. None of the shapes touching it are the same as they are in the other picture, because each has one side that is made of the hypotenuse.

The red in pic 1 LOOKS like the red in pic 2. They aren't the same.

And so on.

crazzz, do the math. blue triangle has an area of 5, red triangle has an area of 12, orange and green are 7 and 8 respectively obviously. adds up to 32. area of total triangle though (being 13 x 5) is 32.5.

yes, the other angles in right triangles will vary depending on the length of the respective sides, but if the 90 degree angle is true and the length of the two non-hypotenuse sides are both true, the only way for the area to end up a lie is for the hypotenuse to not be a straight line.
