in response to westcoastpirate. that sucks, but isn't DiCiccio the only one opposing the south mountain freeway? i really oppose the freeway as i do not think it will help traffic in any significant way. so i'm torn.

You can get discount Arizona State Fair tickets prior to October 10th if you use the code phxcc13 at azstatefair.com. (15% of proceeds go to the Phoenix Children's Chorus.) FYI if anyone is going to any shows there this year.

I know this is super delayed, I just don't read the forums that much anymore. Diciccio doesn't fully oppose the expansion, he just opposes it north of Pecos Rd. The only reason Diciccio opposes the 202 expansion on the north side of Pecos is because he has a major stake in the property that would be leased for the expansion on the Gila River Reservation south of Pecos off 40th St, so he is set to make a shit ton of money if they move it there. Sign up for the District 6 email newsletter and you will get weekly vitriolic rants. Good times.

Not quite Phoenix, but my co-worker said the Safeway at Hayden and Chapparal (sp?) in Scottsdale has a bar inside the grocery store. Apparently it is always packed when my co-wrker shops there.

There is a new Whole Foods that opened at 20th St and Highland in Town and Country mall that has a bar. The Whole Foods at the 101 and Ray also has a bar, and it's almost always packed around happy hour and on Saturdays. They have one of the best beer selections in the Phoenix area.

I just drove by that the other day! It's so big and bright. My kids were all excited and wanted to go in, but I was too hungry (for restaurant food) to stop. haha, we did end up at AJ's though because they have great prepared food reasy-to-go.

The Pixies presale is up. Working on getting tickets. Nice to see Live Nation is now charging $5.00 to ship tickets standard mail. This used to be free since forever. Assholes...

A non-profit I support (Phoenix Conservatory of Music) is hosting a screening of Back to the Future on Sunday October 20th at the Deer Valley AMC @ 4pm. There is a Doc Brown look alike contest (paging Ivy) and the Arizona DeLorean club has been invited. The students will perform a couple of songs in the courtyard prior to and after the movie.

Tickets are $15 and you're supporting a great cause - to help give subsidized music lessons to students.

    For more information visit www.pcmrocks.com.
